This new crate season makes me sad. No crates given out to celebrate the new crate season? All in service of the ridiculous new gem exclusive items for 300-500 gems. I don't even want to think about how much money those actually cost.

For as much as I criticize the gambling crates, I loved feeling like I could participate in the new season, get a few collectibles and some gems, and have fun opening my crates and seeing all my guildies talking about what they got. Now I'm just staring at this page of unobtainable stuff and feeling pretty bummed.

You may not want anything out of the crates, but I can't afford enough gems for everything I want. Would be nice if we could gift gem items...

BU THERE'S A CHICKEN! Two chickens actually! I think it's the only thing I want from the crates and I've got a good stash of gems since a lot of stuff in the crates (especially the mounts) have never appealed to me.

Though I hate, hate, HATE the loot boxes thanks to my crap rng you need to understand the gem prices are high because that is a "buy now" option. It's ment to get you to buy loot boxes in hopes of getting the item and if you don't get it you still have a chance of getting the gems to get it. It's better then swtor where they simply give you the rng box and nothing more.

Only thing I want from the crates are the plants. Spent 5k on the crates and got NOTHING from even the same tier as the plants, and only 2 things from the tier below.

Tons of garbo items, to gem though... went from 6 gems to 197 gems. Annoyed I can't 'gem' the stupid dye stamps I pulled though.

SWTOR is EA though, and they are the most predatory of any publisher when it comes to loot boxes and RNG.

Was there really a customer demand for lizard-man-bear-pig-thing mounts? I think this push for swamp aesthetics is overdone, and on the heels of the Hollow jack crates, it's another disappointing offering. Hopefully more ice is in our future.

I feel Crown Crates are ethically indefensible. I have an ethical obligation not to reward them for this behavior. However, as I've said in other threads on the topic, the introduction of other ways to get Crown Crates took the ethical "sting" off of the Crates and made me feel like maybe it was okay to buy a few.

That wiggle room is now completely gone. I'm back to being disgusted with the whole concept and with ZOS as a company. They've forced everyone who works for them to be ethically compromised at least, and that makes me feel they're people I simply cannot trust.

Do they deserve that lack of trust? Considering they'd essentially won my trust back and then actively, intentionally, willfully discarded that trust, I'm forced to say yes. They chose to be unworthy of trust.

Again, as I've said in other threads on the topic, greed is short-sighted and stupid.

A wolf lizard, a horse lizard, a camel lizard WTF. Just a green reskin of existing models with a cartoon face on them, that's it.

What's next? Solstheim expansion with a penguin type mount: a horse penguin, a camel penguin and a bear penguin?

I think this is what they planned all along: 'get them hooked on the crates and then get them to buy them using crown gems.' (High-tec pusher.)

Fortunately for myself, IDC, I never did care about anything that comes in the crown crates. The tri-restoration potions were nice, but I can do without them. Meh.

Yeah, I’m kind of disappointed by the voriplasm weapons. For something so expensive they should have a model that’s unique, not just copied from the existing Deadwater style.

My biggest problem with them though? The slime isn’t even visible when the weapon is sheathed! If I don’t have the weapon out all the time, there’s no way to tell it’s unique. It looks exactly like a Deadwater weapon 90% of the time!

As someone who was interested in having a lime jello hang out on my staff all the time, this is very sad. Since there’s no way to preview the weapon while it’s sheathed, there’s no way to know in advance that the jello disappears.
