In WoW, real life holidays are often present and they decorate the towns like OP is talking about. While I do enjoy the holiday events, the decorating of towns becomes overwhelming to me. That's not to say that I do not think the game should not acknowledge real life holidays, I quite enjoy the fact that we can decorate our homes (even have different homes for the seasons, which is a nice touch). However for me, I see this concept in WoW and everything becomes too visually too overwhelming for my taste.
Just my two cents, I am certianly not going to stop playing or anything silly like that. I still play WoW, just kinda tune out the seasonal stuff. Besides, Elder Scrolls holidays are equally as fun.
