What was the golden age of eso

I’ve been on an off this game for a while now. I really enjoy it I love pvp and pve. Dungeons are awesome cyridil if fun and battle grounds brought me back. Questing can be engaging and kinda cool but pretty easy. World bosses are fun to try and solo and some one came across that I can’t like the one in wrothgar the dedric dragon that come after you Jill the summoners. Anyways.....

I feel like all I hear is negativity about the game. When was the game at is best is my question?? Was there a time that the game wasn’t hearing this kind of negativity. I really like the game and sure something’s i wish would change but that’s every game. So I guess my big question is was there ever a golden age of eso on your opinion. I didn’t start until 2016 and I’ve had a good time hbu?

Back before the proc meta (Viper, Tremor etc.) started. Damn I miss that time... Since then PvP went more and more downhill with more and more proc sets releasing every patch

Before they added the netcode to detect bots that crippled the performance in Cyrodil.

I think Tamriel Unlimited was better then One Tamriel. But anything has ups and downs. The solo part was definitely better.

I believe ESO's golden age is in the future.

In spite of all the complaining, most aspects of the game have improved greatly since launch. The bugs we have now are nothing compared to the bugs the game had for the first couple months, when there were quest bugs that actually prevented your character from finishing the main quest or leveling all the way to 50. The bots people complain about now are nothing compared to the bots we had in 2014, when trains of jabbing templars would fly through air like Santa Claus and his reindeer!

There are still some areas that need to be improved, especially with regards to stamina/magicka balance in PvP and class balance in both PvE and PvP, but I actually have confidence that ZOS will eventually get there in a few years. The lag that afflicts PvP is still a bad problem, but I suspect that ZOS could fix this if they ever decided to dedicate the resources (money, dev time) required.

I wouldn't be surprised if ESO ran as smooth as butter in 3 years or so, if anybody is still playing it, LOL.

The Golden Age of ESO is whatever stage of the game you are at when you enjoy the combat, the quest content is still fun and exciting, the stories are great, and you want to log and have fun everyday.

Then, gradually, you enter the rat race stage, where you log in to pursue the meta or whatever shiny reward the Devs dangle in front of your face. You dont have as much fun, and the bugs and performance issues start to become a bother, but hey, its still pretty fun and you are getting the gear/skills/rewards you want, right?

Eventually you get tired and worn out and disillusioned by the rat race. Then, you either quit the game in a huff or with a sigh. Or you continue the rat race, growing even more disillusioned with every patch. Or, you finally become content with your lot- running whatever content is fun for you, ignoring the rest, and happy to play your slightly less good than the meta builds that work for what you like to do.

You mean Proxy Det Elder Staffs Online time? It was the worst time for a stamina build in ESO PvP.

Well, solo dungeons have been solo dungeons. Public dungeons have been deadly. Molag Bal, mages guild and warriors guild quest have been really all solo and quite heroic. Cadwells Silver and Gold have been instanced. And.. drumroll.. you could die while questing.

Keep in mind I only started July 2016, just before One Tamriel, so I can't speak to the state of the game before 1T, though I have heard it was great. For me, though, the golden age would have been 1T/Homestead.

Morrowind was when the game started to take a dive for me, as the sustain nerfs really hit me at the time (to this day, I still cannot fathom why Zenimax didn't just bloody address sustain in Battle Spirit, so PVP nerfs didn't affect PVE).

    For content? Now.

For PvP? Pre proc sets/pre 1.7

For Role play? Beginning of the game when everyone was excited by the lore.

The golden age was early 2016. One tamriel started a degradation in game play performance and homogenized content . The game prior to that was very fun and enjoyable. We are now at a point where this game hardly resembles a true mmo. The performance is poor, balance is bad directly related to scaling and homogenized focus DPS. Sadly from here the game will continue to expand in a flat puddle. It wont get better just bigger

Reluctantly I am forced to agree. We desperately need vertical progression, any more horizontal and all we get is a more shallow puddle, no depth to the gamplay.
