Is self buff via Spell power cure bannable exploit?

I watched on youtube how popular TESO blogers buff themselves via Spell Power cure set. But in set description we can read "When you heal a friendly target that is at 100% Health, you have a 50% chance to increase their Weapon and Spell Damage by 258 for 10 seconds." So selfbuff is not intended with this set. I want to know are they exploiters and is this selfbuff bannable exploit?

Better add anyone using troll king, sentinel, earthgore to this list of people needing banned since they all work this way and have this description.

Technically you are a friendly target in that you are not an enemy, maybe the description isn’t the clearest but I’m not sure why it would cause you to jump to asking if it’s an exploit and bannable, especially when all sets with similar descriptions work this way.

The Buddha and Jordan Peterson says you must be a friend to yourself. If you are not, who will be?

TBH I would love it if they permabanned everyone who ever cast SPC and got SD on themselves because of it :D

It is not wholly consistent though, sometimes 'ally' includes yourself, sometimes 'heals' doesn´t work at full hp... everything must be verified before you dedicate time to a build methinks.

So you dont consider yourself a friendly target / Ally of yourself? Its 100% intended to selfbuff and no exploit in any way. The description is just clunky i guess

Friendly Target also includes yourself. My Healer runs SPC and I'm always buffing myself as well as the group.

Mechanically, the game has always considered yourself as a friendly target.

In cases where it strictly intends someone else, it will state "ally" in the tooltip. Good examples are Wardens' Soothing Spores ability, and also their Nature's Gift passive. Both from the Green Balance skill line.

Let's go with, sure, yeah... because you have no control over who it heals, and nearly every heal in the game also affects the healer, yes, EQUIPPING SPC IS A BANNABLE OFFENSE! It all makes sense now.

    No, wait...

Yeah, if this was an exploit, there'd be no way to avoid it aside from never equipping the set in the first place. Given this is a staple set for healers, yeah, it's safe to wear. You can try to buff yourself with it if you want, but it's not an efficient use of a 5pc set for a non-healer.

This is about ridiculous. What about those healers that are wearing SPC and don't change it for questing etc. They should be banned because they are just playing the game and SPC just so happens to proc when they are just running around killing stuff and healing themselves? It is intended and YOU are a friendly target.

Unless you're playing a mix of DD and Healer together at all times, there's better sets for DD purposes, which give quite a bit higher Weapon / Spell power. And if you're a Healer, well you wouldn't be much of a comparison to a true DD in a group dungeon then. Unless you're playing solo overland content, or it's also good second set for Maelstrom Arena builds where you might need to slot some heals.

    As said, working as intended.

I don't think many would claim that pure healers are overpowered and need nerf of any sort. Further, healers are rare enough (queue in group finder much?) that we surely don't want to discourage them by nerfing their healybits. ;)
