Well EVE Online still excites me because of spaceships and politics, but I'm still playing ESO instead.

There's some interesting stuff on the horizon, I really hope at least one of the three I'm looking at turns out to be fun to play. And playable.

Long time still til the next Elder Scrolls game. :(

Nah nothing good at the market atm - just outdated crap

I actually switched to singleplayers to calm my nerves after first nerfmire pts nerfnotes...

Btw X4 foundations coming soon so i can have some actual fun because even if find crafting

In eso is kinda fun the overall state of tsis game atm can be named as F word (and that word is not 'fun' btw)

Another one. Overkills the walking dead. Console release was pushed back to 2019 but I think it's out on PC or it drops in Nov. But if it's built right will be awesome. 4 man teams, post apocalyptic world.

Honestly I want to switch to something else, maybe not even an mmo. I just have lost all faith with zos. The game is nice, I love the sounds, new zones, design team is on point.

But i just hate literally everything the combat team does SO much, it honestly depresses me because everything else in eso (for the most part) is awesome. This has potential, had potential but since the even 2 yrs ive been playing the combat has just gotten worse and worse and that is a HUGE part of eso. That and the performance kills this otherwise awesome game, that i have sunk hundreds of days worth of game play into. Im not even someone who has been around this whole time.

After this patch its just apparent that zos is gunna be zos and their gunna do what they want regardless of community response. Sorc pts had almost 2k posts telling them how much this direction and patch was hated. They still went along with it. If that much response cant get them to realize their not developing for the community I dont know what will

Im here for the awesome community and players ive met at this point. Thats only gunna last so long tho

I know. Still more excited for TES VI than any other MMO.

Or any other game, for that matter. I have Fallout 4, Witcher 3, and Assassins Creed all sitting unplayed in my Steam account because apparently the TES series is the one I gravitate to above all others.

I need to finish Fallout 4 though. Shaun's sitting there like, "Mom, when are you gonna come rescue me?"

And I'm like "Sorry, honey, Mommy's gotta pick some more columbine in Tamriel. And fish. And get plunder skulls. I'm coming, I promise...eventually."

    Tell me about it.

I find it so hard to keep up on ESO these days because I have other games with friends to play as well as doing two pen and paper RP games a week.

I have Fallout 76 on order because I'm a big Fallout fan, but I'm already wondering how I will keep up with updates to that and ESO at the same time. Too many "live service" style games and not enough free time. :disappointed:

You all saw what happened to Battlefront II with the gambling boxes right? That will be Anthem when it finally reaches daylight. I think I also remember reading a little while back about some of lead developers walking away from it.

As far as the title question goes, I think we are in the twilight years for the true MMOs. Thanks to the massive micro transactions, younger generation’s need for instant gratification, and the cultural shift from mental conditioning, we won’t see a lot of new true MMOs on the horizon.
"And it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days. The fact that the word "monetized" exists points to the heart of the issue for us: We don't want the player to worry about which parts of the game to pay for - with our system, they get it all."

I wonder if we'll see some kind of "indy MMO" market spring up, smaller MMO games which focus on niche groups rather than trying to gain all the players like the AAA ones.

Pathfinder Online for example was made with this mindset, to be a smaller MMO for those who wanted a Pathfinder sandbox MMO, not aimed to be the next best MMO and break records.

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.

I mean I dont know about that lol cd project red is probably the last gaming company i have respect for. Like I didnt pre order witcher 3, when I bought it I just bought the game, no season pass at first. Soon as I popped in the game I has 16 dlc things for me, costumes, gear, all of it. On top on it being a beautiful, well put together (mostly bug free), interesting game. that really went far for me.

Honestly I dont even know if im interested in cyberpunk 2077 but I am straight up getting it just to support the company and show them the love.

dont get me wrong skyrim alone i have 1000+ hrs in and I bought the whole collectors edition with all the tes games in it

but like cd is my new favorite company and that says alot when im so disgusted with the game company I take my name from that I havent even looked at trailers of their new games

Back when I got suspended from ESO for putting up with just bad people, I bought Black Desert Online. Now it has a lot of similarities to ESO like crafting, PvE, PvP, dungeons, trials, world bosses, and even fishing, but it differs in many ways.
    • combat is so much better, utilizing key combos, which offers a wider range of skill attacks, and you can figuratively feel the attacks. VERY FUN combat mechanics
    • crafting is robust but it's a grind. i prefer ESO's crafting for it's simplicity and efficiency of time
    • sailing, swimming, diving, climbing, riding (climbing think the latest DOOM game)
    • no loading screens. it's all one continuous world
    • a crazy amount of events, in fact I don't recall there being a day without one
    • lots of mini-games, and NPC engagement
    • no subscription, and BDO flirts with P2W, but it's not that big of deal as players make it out to be.
    • patches done when needed, with little or no downtime, and when there is downtime, players get surprises in the mail as compensation for lost play time (ZOS you could really learn from this)

All in all, when ESO is pissing me off, I go and play BDO.
