Recently I have become a fishing monster. I can't stop fishing, or rather I won't stop fishing. OwO I even delete alts that bore me or I'm no longer interested in that have the title just so I can make a new alt to get another title.
My main character already has all the fishing achievements, including all current DLC and Imp city so that's why I keep creating new alts to do more titles. I've even hijacked my husband's account, WITH his permission, so I can get Master Angler for him. xD

I guess what I'm wondering is am I all alone in such practices or are there other fishing crazy addicts like me?

I can't claim to be a fishing addict YET, but I can tell you that I've been holding-on with a death-grip to a Blue-Ringed Octopus I caught a couple of weeks ago (instead of selling it to a vendor).
My inventory is getting rather odoriferous at this point, I'd imagine.

But I can't help it! It's just so pretty!

Oh I cannot blame you there, malodorous inventory aside, that darling little cephalopod is both gorgeous and OH SO RARE! Took me ages to catch it on my main.
And hey if you do become an addict you can always join me in the share circle to tell about your exploits!

I can see that happening, once I get my main and second both leveled.

There are quire a few who love it! @MyNameIsElias is the grand fishing champion I believe.

I believe there are even some guilds who focus on it as well helping each other.

P.s Fishing this much makes you stinking rich, find a good trading guild and go nuts with selling perfect roe and making foods/drinks (if you have enough roe that is).

I just started caring about completing the Master Angler achievements. Last week I finished up Summerset then last night alone I went into Vvardenfell and caught all but the Foul ones, which I'll finish up tonight. (Still can't believe I caught two of the three Lake fish in a single hole last night)

I'm starting all this backwards so I'm saving the actual Master Angler title achievement for last, doing all the DLC first. After Vvardenfell I think I'll go into Clockwork City.

Aha! It was actually Elias's achievements that inspired me to follow suit. Except the deleting titled alts to get more. xD That's just me being obsessive.

Only ever good causes! I helped my husband fund the Ebonheart Chateau with a lot of fishing. I'd also be very tempted by the guilds but being on Xbox I'm sadly sure they aren't available to me. TwT

Working backwards is an interesting ideal. I may have to try that one at some point on a more permanent alt since my main already has them. Though I'd highly suggest working on Cyrodiil sooner rather than later just cause wow its difficult to fish while always being on watch for other factions waiting to wreck your trip and send you back home.

I'm far too addicted to the gamble of seeing how much Perfect Roe I can get as well otherwise I'd likely sell the uncut fish stacks. xD

It took me entirely too long to realize that "golf" was a typo; only because I used to fish on a golf course in real life.

I like the idea of fishing. I appreciate the rewards from fishing. I even want to like fishing.

However, after 5 or 6 casts, I grow bored and move on to something else. Like farming CPs on my CP1177 Account.....

Fishing is fun only when with a group, and we are all on Discord or Teamspeak shooting the breeze.

I fish a lot, but no desire to get the title on my alts. My main was enough, and coldharbor nearly killed me.

If you're looking for gold without sacrificing the roe, those bottles you fish up in summerset go for a nice chunk of change!

tbh I find fishing really relaxing. It's nice when I'm reading or doing homework because it adds background atmosphere with the water/nature sounds. All I have to do is listen for the catch noise and press E twice

try fishing in ESO with a rumble controller=you feel the nibbles, then small strike and then strikes hard=reeling in the fish

Surprisingly I'm the opposite. I love fishing alone just for the challenge of beating the RNG, there's a huge thrill for me when I see that blue/green fish show up. If someone else fishes with me I just finish out the hole and wander off but it only rarely happens and they almost never follow me to the next.

I find that music, movies, or even light asmr videos or random youtube videos really help with the perceived boredom of the grind.

Sometimes I go for weeks on end doing nothing in game besides fishing.

Typically, I grab a few cold ones, turn on the country music and just burn through stacks and stacks of bait.

Then, out of nowhere, I feel the need to PVP or run dungeons or whatever and completely stop fishing until the overwhelming need for it returns.

I don't completely understand this fishing thing. The closest comparison I can draw is my compulsion to pick flowers. Not ore. Not wood. Not silk. Not even fungi. Just flowers.

I've been ganked many times picking columbine in Cyro. Even worse, I've been re-ganked coming back to the same spot. "Bro, let me have the flower then you can collect my AP"

Is this the same?
