ufyjfj in Craglorn wanting to trade (Auto-Decline trade still needed)

Before I get accused of name and shame, ufyjfj isn't a real name. I am just making it up as an example.

These types of players with letter mashing names (23wef, wfeugfue, 2refwsdfs) ARE bots and I'm positive of this. I made a similar thread before about how these players harass you all throughout Belkarth. They run up to you and spam you with trade invites, and if you decline, they send more. If you keep declining they eventually whisper you and demand 5-8k. You could run away from them from one side of the town to the other and they actually follow you. This is the bots' downtime when it is no longer actually automated, but controlled by a player trying to scum gold - and most often offload garbage mats.

The reason I'm positive they're bots accounts - the simple way I find out is going to Playstation's "Players Met" category, which will show anybody who whispers you in-game. 100% of the time this leads back to a PSN account with ONLY ESO, 1 trophy, and under language "Simplified Chinese." We all know the Chinese have been ruining MMOs since time immemorial and quite frankly all the other evidence from letter mashing names to the lack of activity on PSN shows it all in plain colours, these are not innocent normal players.

I am getting sick of these things happening on 3-4 times a week when I log in for writs. I am yet again requesting Auto-Decline trade because I am sick of the harassment. I am not gonna sit there wearing potato sack clothing to look poor so they leave me alone.

I have found a way to troll these bot players, when they send me trades I now decline and then immediately send them a duel request, they being the fools they are accept thinking it's a trade - but then stand still, being the bots they are, they are incapable of fighting with their weak characters, and thus each time they fuel my progression for Duelist. I had 0 duels in before I figured this troll method out. Give it another 2 months and I'll have all 100 done from this. Also while they're dead it gives me ample time to mount up and run far, far away.

Still, please add the feature to auto-decline trades the same we can with duels, because this gets goddamned annoying. I normally don't get too fussed about bots out in the wild - but this is different, this is actually targeted harassment and I'm sick of it. I do my part to report these people too - but it's not enough. It would be much easier to ignore them if they weren't pulling up the trade prompt on my screen.

Add auto-duel option on trade request please. That will make those bots think twice.

    Even better lol!

If in Craglorn, you can steer them off their path using mystery meat and taunt welwas on them.

I have tons of saved videos killing bots. :)

It’s even funnier when the Chinese botters get wise to your antics and offer a bribe to go away/not report them. :)

Sorry bro. I’m going to disrupt and report you every time.

I haven't had one bribe me to leave yet - but I have had one drops 2-3 garbage items in the trade tab worth 10 gold to try and "legitimize" their harassment. Sometimes I put 1 gold in there and they do cancel the trade themselves too lol

Sadly us disrupting them isn't working, and the lack of Gamemasters exasperates the issue tenfold.

Yeah, we shouldn't need an auto-decline trade feature. How about we get some actual game masters in this game to deal with the botting issue just in general, yeah?

Should take the bribe and still disrupt them.

Totally. The messages are fantastic too. Horrible Google translate abominations.

Go ahead of their farming route, and clear out their path. They tend to skip alchemy though, so if you're trying to be quicker you might have to as well. With nothing to help them fill their quotas, they will leave your route for another.

I also tried a duel after a junk trade offer, it was hilarious. He hid behind a rock hoping his twilight would kill me as I toyed with him. Maybe it was fun for him too, getting a break from the daily grind.

These bot authors should work at Google. Very advanced AI if they can accept a duel invite and hide behind a rock as one commenter described above.

Or maybe they’re not bots and are real people playing in a way they enjoy? Or are being forced to... but that’s irrelevant and up to their local authorities to address. Not ZOS. Trust me, they won’t want to get into the business of policing human trafficking and money laundering ops. That’s a can of worms you can’t unopen after you’ve taken an official stance on it.

Add them to ignore list and move on. If inoring someone doesn’t stop trade/duel requests, then that is the issue that needs addressed.

I was absolutely amazed when I started reading up on the shadier side of botting. Automated farming or whatever is one thing, but when you start to realize it's real people... yikes.

Wait, what? What's the point of opening trades with people? Botting nodes at least makes sense; they're getting mats. What's a trade filled with garbage items supposed to accomplish?

Just kidding I hate seeing bots so rampant in this game and nothing being done to stop people who advertise that they use them & even show others how to make bot accounts

They're hoping to get some pocket change or small goodies from players. It's the ESO version of panhandling
