Nov Monthly Reward: Murkmire DLC, is it cool or not?

Initially I was thinking this is good. I like to get the DLC's when I can even on my ESO+ account. I do have other accounts that are non-ESO+, so I was thinking this is great I can get this free on them since I can not afford on my budget to get it. Then I thought wait.... that means bot accounts can do the same, so will we have an issue with bots in the new DLC zone? Has me with mixed reservations. Is this gonna be cool or another area fighting the bots?

How are others feeling about this possibility?

I hope the DLC reward doesn't replace a big end of the month reward like the 100k, that would suck for those who are constantly subbed to ESO+

Other than that I think it's great, ZOS have been giving loads of free stuff recently it's really giving them good attention

I see all these threads about bots but in over a year of playing I have yet to see one of these mythical bots.

They gravitate to particular spots, someone’s made a list somewhere but in on mobile so I can’t exactly check.

I’ve seen trains of about 20 bots farming wolves in Grahtwood (the one town toward the East of the map), a slightly smaller group farming Dreugh in Stormhaven, resource farming bots are more common in early zones (and can be glitched out if you take a node on their route)

Those are the three off the top of my head but there’s a big bottling problem. Also keep in mind you maybe be missing them because of the instancing system.

You'll easily see them if you spend a little time searching upper craglorn, one of the tiny starting isles, or any famous farming spot. I found one under a tree, in a place no one - except people on a starting quest - goes. Just try to place the bear trap memento on top of the player and he'll instantly disarm it, confirming he's pressing the gather button automatically. They aren't always fully programed bots. Just an infinite loop macro will do.

There are probably bots on every map, including other DLCs. Botting's a part of life, like death and taxes :D I'm happy Murkmire's November's big reward-- saves me 2000 or so crowns for the permanent unlock.

Its not awful I guess cause free dlc pack, but the fact there is a collectors edition with the horse and pet that will be sold as well makes me feel off...
I mean I usually buy the big pack with the mount and pet cause I like collecting mounts and pets and with this DLC available free buying the collectors edition is pointless and the mount and pet alone are likely to be more expensive than the collector's edition sans the dlc. >-<

I'm weird but its how I feel about it.

It's obviously the "big prize" for the month. /shrug

(the 'big prize' isn't always great for everyone. The uber-rich didn't care about the 100k, the "crown crates are evil" crowd doesn't care about the month end crate bonanzas, etc...)

I think it's an odd choice for the prize, but I'll happily take it, since I'm not currently subbed and have been slowly buying zone DLC as they have anniversary sales.

I think it's an odd choice, but it's probably another experiment to see what kind of rewards/timings actually affect the number of people logging in and the reaction among players.

I'm just glad it's once again something which is available another way. My biggest worry when the login reward system was introduced was they would start offering exclusive items that way (besides recoloured cosmetics I mean) and then if you aren't able to log in that month you'll be stuck without whatever is it.

I'm not sure it will make much of a difference for bots. Firstly I'm not sure how many bots/people running them actually collect the login rewards (if you just close the window and don't collect them it doesn't progress), but also I think most bots tend to stick to simple farming, they're not going to be running dungeons and things, mostly they stand in one spot auto-attacking and pressing E. So unless Murkmire has an exclusive material/open-world drop, like Nirncrux in Craglorn, it won't have any benefit for botters.

I have (perhaps misplaced) faith that if bot accounts are able to claim it, the accounts that do so will eventually be dealt with and permanently banned or suspended. Since it's only something one can claim for that month, subsequent accounts will not be able to ruin our experiences in the new zone.

It’d be nice if the end of the month reward was a 3 way choice.

    -5 crates OR
    -100k gold OR
    -Murkmire

    Something for everyone!
