Minor Slayer

Hi everyone!

Just a quick question?

How valuable is minor slayer?
How strong is compared to willpower as a pure 3 piece set?

This is because im not sure if i should run a sorc with perfected AS infierno and 2 5-piece sets (like Mech.A + BSW) OR just 1 5-piece, a 3-piece (either moondancer or and willpower) and a monster set.

The perfected Asylum staff is okay. Not amazing though. I'd rather have a monster set and 2nd 5 piece.

If you're really set on the Asylum staff though, go for 2 5 piece sets. Srioria is a must-have and it can go with really any set. Good choices are:
Mechanical Acuity
Burning Spellweave
Scathing Mage
Julianos

The nice thing about the 2 5 piece sets with Asylum staff is that static bonuses are more worthwhile because Julianos and the like will have 100% uptime (since you're not only front barring it)

The thing is that im the interrupting guy in vAS+1/2, so i cant run siroria, thats why i asked about minor slayer,

Minor slayer works great if you pull at least 30k+, but the real reason to run slayer sets is because you can get an extra piece bonus (4x) with it. That was pre-summerset, now that weapons count for 2 pieces, you can get a full 5x instead.

In terms of purely 3x sets, as in only using enough pieces of a slayer set to get minor slayer, willpower is the better choice, imo.

Anyways, if you're intent on using an AS staff and want to use 2 5x sets, its not bad or anything. On the other hand, if you want to use an AS staff but want to keep a monster set too, I'd suggest using willpower over a slayer set.

If you are using Crushing Shock as your spammable in vAS then I believe the best gear is 5X Moondancer (for slayer, sustain, and spell damage), 3X Willpower, 2X Slimecraw, and a Perfected Asylum Inferno with Maelstrom Inferno.

For other content, where interrupts are not required, I’ve found that using elemental weapon and two 5-piece damage sets is better. Zaan-Siroria-Spellweave has been the highest parsing combination for me.

Some thoughts:

• Minor Slayer adds what to overall damage? Probably more than 3%.
• Willpower isn't going to match that.
• But Willpower also helps heals or whatever.
• For a build to truly use a 3-piece set (rather than 3 on one bar and 5 on the other), wouldn't it need special weapons (Maelstrom/Master/Asylum/Blackrose) on both bars?

I was running vAS a lot after posting in this thread last week. I’m more convinced than ever that 5-3-2-1 beats any 5-5-2 setup as interruptor. Here’s a demo of Moondancer, Willpower, Slimecraw with a Perfected Inferno and Maelstrom.

Question: how much health do you have for this particular fight?

With that setup a little over 15k unbuffed. I don’t have any attribute points or enchants invested in health, just the bonus from 5-1-1 armor and Clockwork Citrus Filet.

When I’m playing it more safe I will run 3-7 pieces of armor with prismatic enchants, and sometime use Iceheart instead of Slimecraw.
