If i cast regeneration on the back bar with the maelstrom staff, will its effect proc when i switch to a different set on the front bar?

I know that's how the destruction staff works, but i've never used the resto staff before.

It is the case with all the special weapons that the skill is still effected when you swap bars.

One issue is, if the skill hits the target after the weapon swap the effect does not occur. This is the case with damage weapons and since heals do have a travel time I expect it is the case as well.

Alcast demonstrated this with the vAS destroy and that if the force pulse hit the target when on the other bar the effect would not occur. iirc he said it was the case with other special weapons as well.

With that, I have never experienced an issue with the vMA rstaff not procing regardless of what bar I am on.

Interestingly, I have tested this with the Master's bow, and the special effect applies even with an immediate swap-cancel, before the Poison Injection (PI) projectile impacts the target.

My first thought was that PI is actually classified as an instantaneous "beam" type attack (ala Force Pulse), with the projectile animation being all fluff, but then I remembered it's reflected by DK wings. So it's definitely an actual projectile.

More likely the ability-altering weapons are coded uniquely with no universal rulesets. And in the case of Master's bow, information regarding the effect is associated with the projectile, and not derived from your currently active set bonuses at the time of impact.
