OP, I'm not up to date on this current storm but if it's a cat 3 or less there should be shelters in your area!!!
DO NOT mess around, the wind isn't such a big deal but those floodwaters are a killer.
I used to live in South Florida but it's been a while since I left. Look into shelters in your area please!!!

Sadly nah i live in the dead boonies no shelters, bridges closed no escape only savings grace is high grounds and i live on a lake that can curb any flooding.

I wouldn't worry too much.
I lived on the Florida Panhandle for over 20 years and made it through hurricanes much worse than this. The media hypes these storms up to ridiculous degrees. Unless you live right on the coast or in an area vulnerable to flooding - you'll likely be fine. And it rarely floods in that part of Florida anyway. There are a lot of swamps and wetlands which basically act as a giant sponge for water.
