DO NOT mess around, the wind isn't such a big deal but those floodwaters are a killer.
I used to live in South Florida but it's been a while since I left. Look into shelters in your area please!!!3 -

In southport portion of panama city no flood problems but wind and debris gonna be crazy.. and both bridges out of the area closed0 -

Sadly nah i live in the dead boonies no shelters, bridges closed no escape only savings grace is high grounds and i live on a lake that can curb any flooding.0 -
swippy✭✭✭✭✭yeah please don't die. put some drinking water and some sealed food in a floaty-bag, and strategically arrange footwear and other protective garments for the ways you'll need to be moving around your property. it's easier to get set up now before there's broken glass (and hopefully not broken walls) everywhere.

I wouldn't worry too much.
I lived on the Florida Panhandle for over 20 years and made it through hurricanes much worse than this. The media hypes these storms up to ridiculous degrees. Unless you live right on the coast or in an area vulnerable to flooding - you'll likely be fine. And it rarely floods in that part of Florida anyway. Definitely what im hoping for i been in florida just over 21 years now but i dodged opal before i made it here so didnt get to experience that one. And ivan i dealt woth mostly. But this one isheading right at me dead center the eye will be dead over my house about 6-8hpurs after landfall0 -
