P.S. Also wondering why the support page does not offer any support? why do I get looped back to the beginning of the page?
Is it possible that you have no desire to help me? and why do you say it's a support page if you don't have any support?
Do you guys always treat people like crap? I paid a lot of money for this game. please give me an answer. I also tried using the 64 bit launcher and it wont accept my login as a valid log in

FYI it is a valid log in at least it is the log in that I use on the steam launcher...
I am actually getting rather upset at the total lack of support

You are asking the wrong company to assist you. If you are having problems after installing an add-on, the correct procedure is to contact the add-on publisher for assistance.

ok can you tell me why the 64 bit launcher wont accept my login as a valid login?

The ESO launcher won't accept your login?

ZoS definitely won't help with Minion since it isn't their product.

You are in the wrong place for that.

Check out the Minion forum at ESOUI

    Sure. Here are two solutions:

    1) Uninstall Minion

    2) Visit the Minion Support page

I'm on console, and in less than two minutes I found an entire directory of Minion issues and solutions.

Contacting Zenimax for help with software they neither wrote nor published is foolish.

Don't waste your time with Minion. Isn't that an add-on manager? Completely useless for ESO. Add-ons have a dirt simple approach in this game ..just unzip them in the add on folder.

For peace of mind, occasionally zip your saved variables and user settings files into a backup.

My replies may have seemed abrupt. This is unintentional. Sorry you're having problems, but judging from the Minion support page, there seem to be many bugs with this software.

Unless you are expert with your PC's operating system, I suggest not using this particular add-on

Is it possible, yes. Is it likely, not since a great many of us use Minion and it has not been an issue for the masses. It has served as a great tool for downloading addons and keeping them up to date.

It is very unlikely Minion has affected your ability to log into the game.

    1. Restart your PC. This if often the first step in tech support.
    2. Try logging in again.
    3. Log into your account and see if you can do that. If not it is certainly not minion.
    4. Run Repair from the Launcher if you can log into your account on the website. After the repair try logging into the game again.
    5. Restore your PC to a previous restore point.
    6. Open a tech support ticket at https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/

I believe I saw earlier that you used Steam. I bought the game through Steam and I used to have the same issue a year or so ago with the game randomly reinstalling itself when I tried to launch the game through Steam (never got a good answer why). I then started to use the 64-bit launcher and the game reinstalling issue stopped. Did you let the game fully reinstall before using the 64-bit launcher? If you able to get to the user login screen, I would triple check the user id and password are correct. If you are sure about the userid and password, you should open a help ticket via the support link at the top of the forum page. Getting tech support via the forum page is not very reliable.

Also, I do not think Minion should not have broken anything with your game forcing a reinstall. Like I said earlier, I had the same issues before and found out that Steam seems to want to reinstall the game every time there is a new patch. There might still be a few discussion pages about this issue on the Steam forums, but once I started to use the 64-bit launcher the reinstalling issue went away.

If you're using Steam to play the game then that opens another whole can of worms quite apart from the addon. You may need support from Steam or at least ESO players who use Steam (which is not recommended here).

remove the offending addon if you added addons with minion. It could be a specific addon.

Oh, forgot OP mentioned using Steam which could be the issue since Steam has been problematic for ESO users.

Never had a single issue and I've been using minion for years.

"completely useless" lol wut? minion is extremely convenient both for finding and updating addons. You just click and it installs and updates, done. You dont have to browse page after page, or extract to folder. just point and click.

But sure, if you cannot make minion work for whatever reasonthen manually installing is also an option.

Depending on how old your account is, there's another wrinkle here.

Steam accounts need to log in through the launcher Steam provides. Steam actively prevents those accounts from logging into the game directly. This is only true of accounts made within the last year or two however.

If steam has a native x64 launcher, great. But it sounds like @richie1961 is trying to log into Steam from a non-Steam launcher. If their account was created, again, in the last few years, then that option would not be available to them, and login authentication would fail.

Ahhh! I had forgotten they made that change with Steam, I must have gotten lucky as I do not need to login via Steam. I remember dealing with the game reinstalling itself multiple times within a few month span and thinking my ISP was going to go nuts with all the 80+ GB downloads going on. Thanks for the reminder!

Are you sure it's reinstalling the whole game and not just installing the last patch.
    • I installed the original game with Steam.
    • I have then switched to running the game from the 64bit launcher (not Steam client)
    • Whenever a patch is released, I need to use the Steam launcher to install it.
    • I then go back to using the 64Bit launcher to play until the next patch needs to be installed.

I use Minion for about 10 location and trading mods. There's a trick to getting the install to work correctly, after it's setup correctly, it's an easy and reliable piece of kit. You will need to set up some addons at least once from the Game screen.

    good luck.
