The (bittersweet) tale of two servers.. oh, the gracious horror..

Well, call me a late bloomer, but damn.. about 3 years mostly consistently playing on ESO, and I just realized recently we are able to create 8-15 new characters on the opposite server. Hey, we all are capable to learn new things everyday, and this is another new thing I just recently learned. I have been harping for additional character slots beyond our current 15. Subsequently, I had went over to the Europe server about a week ago during the Pathfinder event for Summerfall. This is due to some peeps (apparently from the EU server who are playing on the NA server) asking on zone for anyone to go over to the EU server to help with the Pathfinder achievement there. I figured, ok, why not. It is just too easy to get the Pathfinder.. what 15-30 minutes.

So, I closed the app and reload/log into the Europe server. Low and below, was I duly surprised. Ok, call me ignorant, ignoramus.. whatever, but I had the notion that my current toon from the NA server would just switch over into the EU server land. Of course, that is not the case, and I am confident a lot of you good folks know about it.. except me. Thus, I find myself staring at the character screen with 8 new empty character slots. I was like, oh shitt. Ha ha.. sigh.. Well, I definitely had mixed emotions. My intention was pure.. to come over to get the Pathfinder for Summerfall on the EU (and not really sure what help that can do, but it was easy and peasy enough to get the Pathfinder.) However, I was faced full-frontal with having to create a brand spanking toon from scratch. This means, I don't have my maxed toons from the NA server to bounce up to when a new toon has reached level 50. It also means I don't have my master crafter to craft any sets, food and potion for my new toon which I am to level up from scratch.

Oh Lord.. so it is just a brand new spanking beginning, and yes, I created a new magsorc for the toon on EU. Oh sure, I have quite the experience from about 3 years worth of playtime and had no trouble rampaging throughout open world Tamriel. Heck, I was soloing dolmens at level 6 and certain world bosses by level 10.. and this is all due with not having any CP and having to use whatever damn armor and weapon pieces I get from chests and other drop. By the way.. I'm not judging here, but I find it hilarious that certain toon/player in the 400, 500 and even 700 CP ranges are wiping out at a dolmen. Hey.. shitt happens. Anyways.. I do find it exhilarating because it is like playing from the very start all over again. Again, I don't have my master crafter that I would otherwise have crafted whatever armor and weapon pieces, food and juice and had dropped in the bank for my new toon to pick up. Oh no.. not this time.

Through and through, I went ahead and got the Pathfinder for Summerset for the EU. Of course, it was much longer because I had no training on my mount from the start and no cash. Literally, had to grab every damn things, you name it; every single damn nodes and plants to create a new inventory from zero. Damn, on my current NA server with the 15 maxed toons, I have multi-millions gold and tens of thousands of all plants and mats. Damn, now for the new venture on the EU servers, I started with zero cash and zero inventory.. holy crap. Furthermore, when I do hit level 50 and champion status, it will be CP level 1, and I have a long way to go for 780. ZOS.. I hate you guys! Ha ha.

Nonetheless, I have really enjoyed the experiences frolicking around with the new toon on the EU servers and my first toon is about to hit level 30. I know, definitely, it will be a very long road on this EU server. Hell.. it took me about a year and a half to get master crafter with the NA server, and I am working towards completing the jewelry research there. Now, I have to start over with crafting research with the toon on the EU server.. but, I am enjoying it; so much that I have filled all 8 slots on the EU server with new toon. Frankly, the other 7 are in the single digit level, but done it to be able to get each the mount training each day, while I progress through the level with the first toon.

Oh hell, it has been quite bittersweet to switch over and creating the new toons on the EU server. It is just like opening up a brand new book and a whole new different story being develop. Well, sorry that this is such a big post, and if you all made read my post and made it this far, I appreciated it. I just wanted to share my bittersweet tale of two servers. Damn you, ZOS/Bethesda, you got me for another year or 2 because of the new toons on the EU (willing that ESO is still up and running by then.) So bittersweet.. damn.. Ha ha

Welcome to the EU server. Now for my ignorant-ness, can you not mail items over from from one server to the other? Like armour crafted by your US master crafter for example? I always assumed this would be possible.

Thank you for welcome. As MJallday mentioned, yeah, just the crowns showing, to which I was able to buy a mount, but it is still so damn slow. Yet, I have been able to have stuff building up in the bank inventory. I practically went hoarder mode and picking up every damn thing I run across and drops from kills. Not so bad, I have managed to culminate a bit of gold for a week's worth of playtime; not so bad for a new toons from scratch. It would just be a hassle, if the option was there, to keep reclose and relog in between servers to send stuff via emails to self. I'm fine with picking up and throwing on whatever I find. Plus, I practically know pretty all or most of the treasure chest locations in each map zone. It is not like it was about 3 years ago when I first started ESO and not knowing what the hell is going on. The big or hollowing piece now is the long arse road to max CP, because I will only be at CP 1 upon reaching level 50.

Nonetheless, I am enjoying the different environment of EU from NA. It appears to be a bit quieter and not as busy at the NA; particularly for a new toon having to farm every damn thing again. However, there is no escape from those raunching chests and nodes thieves. Ha ha. People will be people, no matter what side of the pond you are in. It's all good. ESO is still the game that gets me through my days. B)
