What if the summerfall event progress is actually determined by summerset copies sold???

What benefit is there for ZOS in lying to us about what progresses the counter?

I can kind-of understand the people who think the whole thing is fake and the counter just moves by a pre-determined amount each day because there would be a benefit to ZOS in doing that - it removes any risk of the event failing and drastically reduces the work needed to run it. But this? I don't see the point. A lot of their marketing would be wasted because they'd get the word out to existing Summerset players and then we'd be wasting time doing the achievement and encouraging other people who already have Summerset to get it instead of encouraging people to buy Summerset.

I still think this is possibly the case. If we were to fail, people on the outside would then perhaps think that ESO/Summerset is dead or dying. That said, it doesn't matter in my opinion if that is the case or not, because I think there is a bigger point to the event, and that's community. I think it's just cool as all hell to see the community banding together and helping eachother out with tours and ports of Summerset/Artaeum and that, to me anyways, is ultimately what the event is about. Community.

Actually seeing the percentage going up is encouraging people to buy Summerset anyway. Because people tell to their friends, guild mates and at the end of the event we will get a nice chart saying X amount of people participated, X copies sold, X whatever looks nice on paper. Which is a very good marketing even if getting all the reward was planned. I hope we get the house anyway. But I don't believe that that percentage is actually showing the true one.

lol I wouldn't even be surprised if that was the case, it's ZOS after all. You can tell this event is to sell more Summerset copies and kinda force players to sub so they can decorate that huge manor, well, 700 items still won't be enough to fully decorate it but it's a lot better than 350. lol

Anyway, like I said said a few days ago, I can smell the marketing team all over this event. We don't know how many pathfinders are needed to get the manor and the bar is updated by ZOS once a day so I don't know about you but it looks rigged to me. We'll probably get the manor no matter what, ZOS will have a boatload of money from all those Summerset copies sold and all the new subs.
