There are toxic elements and sadly they are more memorable and vocal than the good elements sometimes.
I do agree that anyone who isn't have fun to the extent it's making them act like terrible people they should probably take a step back and cool off before taking ESO on again with a fresh perspective.
The best we can all do though is try to not be toxic, encourage and promote the awesome things people do for each other in the community. Rather than dwelling on the trash talk and hate whispers, spread stories of the people who go out of their way to help a new group etc.
Interesting to see how many toxic threads there are with both "sides" of the community at each other's throats.
Sad too, when really, neither is responsible for the problems that cause the triggering.
Still, while it can be fun to have a bit of a giggle at each other's expense, people really need to learn when to dial it down and restrain themselves.
If you really, and I mean TRULY, dislike the game/PvP/PvE/other players, you should probably quit or take a break from the game.

PvE'ers have a legitimate complaint here to be honest. Because abilities often are nerfed so as to appease PvPers who are obsessed with the word "balance" and want any ability that gets in the way of their relentless slaying of other players nerfed into the ground.
I've had my entire character build ruined due to PvP nerfs before. It's pretty annoying. So I can understand their frustration. And though the developers claim these shield nerfs were aimed at PvE as well, I'm skeptical to be honest. I believe it's more likely shields were getting in the way of this game's combat developer's ability to gank his opponents.

Sorry mate. Swings and roundabouts. PvPers could argue that PvE has way more sets, a skill line that needs a real commitment to PvE to attain, more content in general.
But the point is - it is neither side of the communities fault that such imbalances are there.

Yeah it's been amazing to see both communities coming together to help each other works towards a common goal.Ilithyania wrote: »There are toxic elements and sadly they are more memorable and vocal than the good elements sometimes.

I am impressed by the ESO community regarding this Summerfall event. Twitch streamers and people in gamechat are very helpful.

welcome to internet.

I was struck by the concept that the game tries balance these two so disparate activities. That such an objective is not possible is evidenced by how long this game has been failing to do so with no improvement in sight. I know that I dread every single patch/upgrade because I have learned that each makes my game less fun. Another predictable result of the current joint balancing is the predictable prickliness between the two communities.
How many years of failing at trying to balance PvE / PvP together does it take to consider a different approach?

All time high is during the Anniversary Event when PVEers desperate for reward boxes swarm Cyrodiil to do the easy town dailies whine, scream, cry, moan, and complain bitterly about how those awful, cruel, meanspirited PVPers are killing them when they just want to quest!
This is just PVEers in denial that the devs nerfed damage shields for both PVP and PVE reasons.

So by your idiotic logic nobody is allowed to have opinion because you’re upset that some people are rightfully angered?
Also get out of here with your shield crap because that’s not even what the thread is about. Pretty sure your toxic post is what OP is referring to.

Last time I checked, the PvE playerbase being toxic had to do with being ganked while on a quest in Cyrodiil.
So I wouldn't say ''neither is responsible''.
I think if a video game makes you mad, you should quit playing.
As for ZOS, it's a testament to them that players who are so overtuned with anger and hostility about the game they play don't seem to actually want to quit. LMAO!
"If such and such doesn't get fixed, I'm gunna... I'm gunna... I'm gunna take a break!"
