    BUT

Minor/Major Evasion: These buffs no longer grant a passive chance to dodge. They now reduce the damage you take from area of effect attacks by 5/25%.

All abilities that previously granted Minor or Major Evasion have been converted to this new effect, and the Blade Cloak ability now grants Major Evasion.

as long as dmg shields can 'crit' it's a welcome change, if no, then this is going too far

after reading patch notes, i'm thinking shield changes are ok.
patch seems fair overall , some tweaks might be necessary but overall i aprove

I think that getting all your mitigation on shields is fair tradeoff. I would be more worried about the 1 second cast time added to Ward and Harness.

Yeah, like light armor "mitigation" and "resistances" was anything relevant. ;)

This change is godawful. The entire patch is a shytshow. How can they claim they want shields to be reactive and then stick a 1s cast time on the most common one? In PvE sure maybe you could claim it’s a buff to effective health, but cast times are the bane of everything in this game.

Yeah rest in pieces stam in PvP. There’s no AoE cap, it’s not like the tiny damage reduction will find any use when it’s all zergling fights.

i'm so tired of people with near nothing pvp experience dictating the dialogue then influence the game to take a negative approach towards changing something, in the name of social justice/balance. two classes just got ruined because of players that cant adapt to a certain skill gap in this game.i can say this patch will probably be my last with this game. this company has turned its back on the veteran players one too many times.

    Which classes?

You must be reading different patch notes to me.

    Forgot this.

Speaking of Major Evasion change I welcome this change. No more Steel Tornado Cheese. It was only strong cause of the 25% damage buff on low targets. Putting it inline with other Executes. Take that away and Tornado hits like a wet noodle.

I'm honestly fine with my wards being susceptible to crit and penetration, but this one second cast time sounds awful until I have a chance to go over it on the PTS.

    I guess we'll see.

I wasn't suggesting wearing both at the same time :p

at one point I have worn each of those sets...I've gone in a different direction recently (wearing a couple of pieces of heavy for the first time on my mag sorc)...

like all my builds (10 characters, each race, mag/stam version of each class) - they are always needing to be updated to adapt to different patches...

it's a part of the game...a crappy part, but, a part of the game...

I never was successful at shield stacking, but, I love spamming hardened ward as much as any mag sorc...

but, there's a big wonderful world of damage mitigation, damage and sustain...

yes, everyone's number one option took a big kick to the crotch...no doubt about that...

I know a bunch of you will simply shelve your mag sorcs...and, that's silly...

got to re-look at your glyphs, traits, pots, mundus, champion points, gear sets, weapon choices...

That's a useless change as no one will use shields with 1s cast time.
