This simple poll shows a really interesting profile of forum users. Currently, 88% of people are CP500+ and 39% are CP1001+. The general population of ESO is starkly different. We should keep this in mind when proffering ideas that could have a significant impact on low-CP players, as their views are probably vastly under-represented on the forums.

53 so far. I only have 1 character over level 50, and I tend to play very slowly (talking to all NPCs, exploring the maps as I go etc.) so it takes me a while to get more, even with enlightenment.

But that's ok. I don't really need them so I'm not in any hurry to get more.

This so much. also poll should been <160, 160-300, 300-5 or 600, 5-600-780, 780-1000 and above 1000.
That is the relevant stats as I see it.
And CP mater a lot up to 300, this is not only the time your cp has an serious impact but also then gather gear but also most of the player skills and also knowing your limits.

Take your time and enjoy the show its not coming back.
And don't worry you are almost at gear cap, the effect of that is that you can start storing and optimizing gear.
Yes the jump from that you are running to an crafted set with gold weapons and an cheap overland one is far higher than from that setup to trial biz.

I'd say redo your poll
Have it go for stuff like one saying less than cp 160, one in between cp 160-300, another for 300-780, and another that is 780-1k, and then the last is 1k-1-2k and so forth. That might likely get you something far more interesting in mind.

This poll is nice but really shows us nothing since ALOT of people that play the game and have been playing since day one don't even get on the forums
