I'm really hopeful legate's black is exactly what I'm looking for.

Ebonshadow does dye weird. So do a lot of the costumes. Some armor on this game just refuses to dye black. That's why I wish they would include an option that let you test how an item dyes before purchasing it.

The difference is really noticeable. Coldharbor Ash Black comes out as Black on the grey side most times.
