14,000 crowns for a new house. No option to purchase with gold or AP.

Hey ZOS- this [snip] is getting old. You've got veteran players (like myself) who have been here since Beta with 21,000,000 AP and 10,000,000 Gold. But yet you want us to purchase housing (which we could use for PVE/PVP guild halls) with actual cash. Not only do I already pay a subscription fee- but that's not enough... I still need to pay MORE CASH (instead of in-game gold or AP) for housing.

Now- I want to give non-subscribers a chance to realize how ridiculous ZOS's cash grab is:

As a subscriber- you get 1500 crowns a month for your subscription. So- in order to purchase this new house- you'd have to sit on all your crowns (and not spend any at all) for 10 months. That's right- you can't spend *** on anything for TEN MONTHS of your subscription... just to purchase a new house. Kind of ridiculous- isn't it?

But, then again, there's games that are coming out which are subscription based and won't require cash grab items. Camelot Unchained is one of them. If ZOS plans to compete with games that aren't seeking "whales"- it might want to step up its game and be slightly less money hungry.
Want to enjoy the game more? Try both PvP (crybabies) and PvE (carebears). You'll get a better perspective on everyone's opinion.

There's a controlled market for it on PC EU, trade guilds established a control system. I'm not part of it myself but I know many players that used it.

Apparently whales makes the world go around. ZOS probably makes a fortune selling this stuff to people with lots of disposable funds. Perhaps you can get someone to gift you the house by paying them ingame gold?

You can't purchase crowns with gold. You can trade gold for crown store ITEMS. But if you're 5k crowns short of the house purchase price, you're out of luck, because you can't gift crowns themselves, which is super-dumb.

They should at least add an opportunity to buy them from other players. That would be fair, you can buy crown crates, mounts, dlcs and everything else for gold, why not the houses?

Because ZOS is in business to make money? And allowing people to buy everything with gold or AP reduces their profits? It's not rocket science.

This has been covered multiple times on the forums. Just take screenshots. If you get jipped (on either side) then ZOS will back you

Well, allowing to buy stuff from other players doesnt reduce their profit, it seems to increase it. :)

Wrong. For ZoS you dont by it for gold, you buy it for real money, but from someone else's wallet. So the item that wouldn't be bought otherwise now would be actually bought with real money and then transferred for gold

At 100-150 gold per crown (current price on Xbox EU) it would cost like 1.5-2m for it, which isn't actually that bad tbh. Just the matter of not getting scammed.

EDIT: AP is like 4/1 on gold, so 5.5-8.5m AP i guess.

Crown houses should be expensive. if you want to pay gold get the ones available in the crown store.

Yeah, there are a few guilds on PC trading crowns..

Current rate on EU though is like 325 which would be 4.5m in gold.

I recommend saving the money to spend on a real-life house instead. You'll get more use out of it and might get some resale value out of it in the future.

The real problem is that housing has almost went completely to crowns and then its super expensive. $100-$150 for a virtual house? No thanks. And there is nothing special about most of the latest releases. Cold harbor is just empty ground and many of the rest that have been released are just empty versions of houses already in the game. Its not like they are actually creating something unique in many cases.

Crown housing needs to be in the $10-$40 range. not the $40-$200 range and there needs to be one or two gold houses for every crown house that is released.

Edit to add: Add the furniture restrictions and the fact that many places in these large houses arent usable or accessible( without building some cheesy walkway ) and its just a total waste. The one in gold coast comes to mind. All the walls and towers and you can access like 2 towers? What a failure. They need to stop halfheartedly ( i was thinking another word) doing housing and put some effort into it. They are very lazy with some of this stuff.

$100 for an empty space? Don’t get stressed. Until they make changes to housing it’s not worthwhile. They need to let guilds buy areas together, allow permissions to be set based on guild level, increase the item cap and give us more interactive features like npcs in housing before I spend $100 on a house. As is, I can’t see the value and I’m a giant whale.

I had this happen the other day. While I did get my gold back, they warned me they will only refund you once. If you get scammed a second time, you're out of luck.

Why they don't make a proper trading system for this idk. It would save them a lot of time since they don't have to answer so many tickets, and the players would only benefit from a more secure system.

is this a "if you send in a ticket, they will honor your request to transfer the house 100% of the time" type deal? or does it depend on the whim of whoever decides to answer your ticket on whether the transfer will actually happen or not?

Certain games I believe are genuine in their claim that they will stay subscription based.

Most of them I remain skeptical...because everyone always promises "we will be subscription based and get all the money we need from it" and then goes F2P + Store
