A new low in my PUG journey

I join a group in Blessed Crucible who had kicked someone after first boss. We wreck everything and do HM on final boss. We are melting her pretty easy, get her down to about 10% and I get kicked just before we kill her. No explanation given, and before you ask my dps is 30k and I was definitely pulling my weight. Like what the hell is wrong with people?

Try being the rare actual capable tank in a vet hard mode who leads the group through and explains the mechanics, then receiving the same treatment, and having a group member "LOL" in /say chat immediately after.

Some people are just bad humans.

A group pulled that same thing on me in Spindle, though maybe for another reason.

I was power leveling a character through random normals. I already felt something was up when two of the group would walk slowly into the dungeon like they were roleplaying. It was a normal so i wanted ti power through to get my xp. Take note that not a word was said to me in chat. We get past the last mid boss before final and i go off to the next trash pull, but the rest of the group just stand around in a corner. They do so as i do three trash pulls by myself and then I'm right on the final boss when i get vote kicked.

They robbed me of 40,000 xp that run.

When that sort of thing happens It just makes you appreciate the cool people and that you're not a terrible human that much more, all you can take away from it.

I got a low for you from today

queued for a random normal, get dropped into ICP, the healeris..eh so-so, other dd was alright... but the tank..hoo boy, the tank... they had the 50K health, they had the high damage resistance they had....a bow....and no taunt, they also had cp 655 and when asked said they had been tanking since they started playing, they got vote kicked...and we queue for a new tank, they show up again..so we kick them again..repeat this 6 times before going "screw it" and the group fell apart.

I dunno, I haven't played any pug dungeons. I'm CP 175. I played first time with a dungeon group last night doing vCoH, and we finished in less than 10 minutes and no one died. Then the group leader gave me the exact helm and weight I needed with the second best trait. First run he got it and gave it to me. Guess I got lucky.

So now I will start pugging tonight to get undaunted keys, and oh boy... Makes me want to resepc to the pet build and solo them based on what I read here. I"m gonna guess this is the exception and not the norm. I've only met good people in this game mostly.

And I was doing a pretty steady 25% of the DPS. Horrible for me since I was a mag sorc, but not utterly terrible for my first group dungeon run. It was a blast.

9 out 10 times most people are cool. After posting I pug'd it again and breezed through it. As a low CP you should be aware that at some point you will probably run across people that will look at your CP and immediately vote to kick you. Just take it in stride man.

No, they kicked you for ignoring your group mates to go do as you pleased.

No, he was honestly in the right here. Those group mates were jerks. Duo the dungeon if you want to RP, don't force that on the majority of people who just want a clear.

I don't love to read stories like this, in fact they rather depress me. However, you're right in the sense that I've yet to read a single thread on this forum about grouping that makes me even remotely regret my decision to stick to solo and co-operative play in MMOs these days.

Don’t believe the hype! Most of my pug runs have been overwhelming positive, with just a few exceptions. Sometimes people post those good experiences, but most just post the bad ones. When I first got this game and started reading the forum I was worried that everyone pugging dungeons were terrible and *** - this couldn’t be further from the truth, and I encourage you to dive in. The forum is a ghetto...

I've just started to do PUG dungeon runs myself. Got to agree with Raammzzaa and others. Nearly all of mine have been positive, with some being almost too chatty or friendly. Was able to clear most in 10-20 minutes and move on, including vet runs.

Eventually I know I'm going to run across some punks like you did. I'm sure I'll be upset, but its not going to stop me from running the occasional dungeon with randos.

Yup. Never had anything like the OP’s story happen. In fact, I’m pretty sure I can count the number of times I’ve been kicked on one hand. Come to think of it, I only need one finger... and the situation that led to it can’t even happen any more since DLC dungeons got locked away from low level characters. I’m glad they kicked me, honestly. Would have been my first time in that dungeon and it would have been awful for me at that time. They did me a favor.

Most of my pug runs have been positive, but this is why I will only do Group Finder with at least one friend! Kick Protection Insurance:)

Interesting, I had something similar happen to me, although not that late into the dungeon. Water off a duck's back, put them on ignore and you won't get into a group with them again.

But if you want something to change beyond that, maybe you note the names beforehand - perhaps even their ID name - and spread the news in game. There are no rules about naming and shaming, nice people still exist and stuff keeps snowballing.

Yes, I imagine something like "you can't do this in combat" might work.

Well, in WoW and RIFT, no you wouldn't get banned for ganking someone in a pvp area - because the minute you entered a pvp area, you were flagged, which made you fair game. There were quests in those areas, but except for the few months I played on a WoW pvp server with a friend and his guildies, I never messed with the quests - for exactly that reason: I'm not ever enough interested in achievements to go to those lengths to complete them.

What do I do when I have 3 PVPers in my DLC dungeon and I am the tank? The DPS is weak and they don't know the mechanics and still want to get their 2 keys for HM. I can quit, requeue and join the same group and then go to a 15 min queue penalty which as a tank is capital punishment. I realise I'm a crutch in PvP and feel guilty that I get carried in their realm and should pay in turn but an 1800 gold repair and 2 hours of time for 1 key and oh god why does anyone ever tank and why am I such a masochist...

Did you forget to read the part where they didn't say a word to me the whole run? I'm in there to complete a Dungeon, not somehow read my groups minds to know exactly what they want. Not to mention they kicked me after i basically cleared the rest if the way to the Boss for them then was robbed of my reward?

I didn't ignore anyone, they ignored me.

I joined a group on my NB Healer. It was a normal, non-vet, non-DLC, nothing hard dungeon and they said, "Nightblades can't heal," and kicked me.

I do that with people who loot during the fight at the Mage in vAA.

Dunno how this happened as didn't think you could vote kick mid combat.
Every time I've seen a vote kick come up and combat has started the prompt disappears until combat was over?
