What motivates you?

What keeps you coming back? What are some of your primary reasons for ongoing ESO gameplay? I understand these motivating factors change from time to time but what "currently" has your undivided attention after login?

Mine (currently)

1. Learning Veteran Trials (previous- learning veteran dungeons; DLC; VMA) Always ongoing to perfect game play (completionism complex I suppose)
2. Guild Mates - Good buddies to shoot the **** with while slaying some evil!
3. Guild Trading - I have to admit I'm addicted to trading, but there could be worst things in life right?
*3a. Fashion scrolls/housing - Even if you suck you can at least have a cool house and bad*** looking armor motif's right, lol? >:)

What about you guys?

    Just to chill and unwind.
Born, Bred & Made in Manchester UK, RIP 22 Angels. 22/05/2017

    PC-EU

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.

Fighting my depression. Right now it's hard to do anything, I just loose all ambition. So ESO is a way to finally ENJOY something. I have been putting off other things that I enjoy but with ESO now it enables me to have fun. So I am enjoying the little things in the game I never noticed before.

I only do PvE so no PvP or anything else yet. I am enjoying the stories where before I just rushed them to get "experience" and try and take things more slowly.

I am loving exploring new lands I never saw before.
Not my quote but I love this saying

"I would pay It for support. But since they choosed we are just numbers and not customers, i dont mind if game and zos goes to oblivion"

I mostly come back for the stories

However a MMO means my progress is always “saved”, unlike ARK or conan exile (few days not log in and boom my base is gone), and that gives the motivation to come back to do the normal game stuff, like dungeons etc.

Also the community is not bad, tho it would require some more social/overland QoL updates to make me want to sink my time into this game like when I first play it

Fighting. I love PvP in all forms with the exception of zerging; small scale, dueling, 1vX... I love it all.

No matter the game, if there's PvP that's where I'll be.

I enjoy the idea of Gaming Alone With Others, to be honest. It's nice to strike up conversation with other folks alone the same quest or help out the Zone Chat Pleas from time to time... but I mostly just really enjoy the stories and taking screenshots. I, too, am working through some Depression-y Stuff and I cut out all gaming but ESO to help re-focus. It's a great game for that. <3

I love PvP too. I agree with the smaller scale form over the mighty "bravehart" ZERG-style.

This. Its fun just to have an activity where you can choose what to do, do it solo, or with a group, without being trolled (i.e. GTA V online) and have a mostly gratifying reward on a regular basis. Certainly, it would be more gratifying if the RNG would give me a g$%^%$n Divines Perfect Relequen Jack instead of the constant Reinforced version, but I digress.

PvP. Its not often you get the best night or fights but when you see your alliance get emp or you're massively outnumbered but you still win the fight its one of the best feelings

There are three primary pillars of ESO that keeps me coming back:

    1) Cheeky Loadouts and Builds
    2) Fashion Scrolls
    3) Housing

Then there are the three secondary pillars:

    1) Friends
    2) Treasure Hunting
    3) Sotha Sil Campaign

For me, ESO helps me deal with the grief of dealing with 5 family members (including my mother & father) dying in the past 18 months. Its an escape from reality... so...exploring its many landscapes; listening to the lore, and taking on the challenge of slaying the evils of the world...that is what motivates me. Exploration is what I like best and Summerset was wonderful.

I am... looking to get distracted.

    No, you do not understand…
    …for me, that is good.

More often then not, that's as good as it gets.

    I hope it will last…
    …for a while at least…
…maybe longer then usual this time?

    I hope so…
    …because if I stop being distracted…
    …then…
    …then I…
    …then I have to…

    …it hurts…

    …Oh, look there!
Sorry, going to get distracted again!

    Honestly not much lately..

As an Australian customer my ping times are through the roof.. 300-1600+
The Crown store is barren 24/7 with very limited stuff being added so slowly i've given up on it..
The content is all aimed and at meta "people" who are toxic and ruin the game with their fanatical competitiveness..

Honestly thinking about moving on and stop wasting my money on a game that cares very little for me as a customer..

@DanteYoda - I would personally be very sorry to see you go. I've enjoyed your posts. As someone who lives in the US (and in the lower 48, not too far from major pop centers) I get you on the ping.... while mine shows 999+ all the time, I KNOW it's at least two seconds if not more. Satellite is all I have....
