NPC Approval rate enabing them as new obtainable assistant/companion

It would be cool if at certain level of approval ,any npc would be hireable as new assistant (written over the standard merchant/banker too)

depending on their profession they could have extra perks;
like a guar tamer could enable 10 more bag spaces
A farmer could increase the amouint of the daily deliverer
A merchant could enable the repair feature

There might be need of a new approval questline (some kind of dailies to increase standing with a type of npc and the nature of the quests would depend on the kind of NPC it is)

This is a pretty awesome idea, not sure how viable it is for ZOS to implement but it could be great to have in the game.

I'd love to have a group of Dunmer NPC's who I've earned the respect of enough to have follow me around.

Why would they give you this when the charge you 5000 crowns for less?

because the game would have more to offer
And it is one step towards the goal of giving the players more reasons to revisit old areas

...because ZOS is an ONG and ESO is an open source project developed by people on their free time.

More reasons to revisit old areas? Considering the amount of threads asking to have shards and books account wide, I guess people here are fed up with revisiting.

I think it depends on the reason to revisit, if it's to do some kind of content or questing which grants something sure, if it's to run around a map to a number of points on every single character just to finish a build or have options within a build... not so much.

and not every character you have would like to gain approval with the same NPC either
there is a difference in that each character has to follow the same pathe & do things over and over
to unlock the same thing/option (hence the many requests to make all those things you mention account wide)
Or where characters are provided with options to pursue,without obligations.Some would love the NPC that says guar are his family as companion/assistant
while on an alt, they'd go for some tavern bard as companion for example
Here the alts wouldn't be required to pursue the same goals over and over,so the issue does not apply here
