Which features from other games would be good in ESO?

    Oh, now I know!

SWTOR's group dialogue for questing. This was one of the best MMO features I've ever seen as I felt the entire time I was playing WITH my friends not just alongside them.

I prefer ESO combat WAY more to BDO or Neverwinter. Seriously ESO combat is way better.

Also the combat in ESO feels more in line with an Elder Scrolls title. Neverwinter and BDO feel like anime, end of story.
@Fiedelstrich I agree entirely. I love Soulsborne games and I think they've ruined combat in other games for me. This game feels like swinging a pool noodle at something in the next county. It just feels bad and floaty.

@LadyNalcarya I find myself performing dramatic leaps off of ledges at enemies to. . . no real benefit in this game, but it's just the instinct. lol

    Same! :D
And I agree, Souls combat is much more fluid and impactful. It's also worth noting that it's very "play as you want", much more so than ESO. I mean, there's not many games that allow you to dual wield shields or kill all bosses at level 1.

At level 1, naked, with nothing but a torch. I saw some of that Bloodborne playthrough. You could never do something like that in ESO. lol It irritates me sometimes how reliant this game is on gear, and that its concept of escalating difficulty revolves around higher numbers and throwing more stuff on the screen. There's nothing visceral about it.

Have you played an Elder Scrolls title?

What ESO should do is implement the an option for a grid inventory like the add-on, it hasn't been updated since April.
    Learn from the add-ons,
    add a search bar,
separate things by; light, medium, heavy, jewelry, etc.
Make an option for grid view as opposed to scroll down

Now a feature from other games I would like to see would be Naval Ship combat, that would add a whole new level to the Alliance War.
Imagine that you get to customize your own ship.
Imagine if your guild gets their own ship.
Imagine two fleets coming to blows, boarding parties, sinking enemy ships,

This person gets it. Take more form the Elder Scrolls series, make it stand out as an MMO with its own identity.
Not stuff with completely different aesthetics and purpose in gameplay.
None of the Elder Scroll games play like Dark Souls, why would you make the MMO version of Elder Scrolls play like a completely different franchise?
Make improvements and take lessons from Elder Scrolls.

Gw2 has this feature in which recipes are account bound meaning I can craft the same item on any character so long as they level up the skill line, I would love it if ESO implemented that then I can put a motif on any toon

I would also love it if Achievements were account bound and not character bound then it would be easier to unlock achieves like the one for killing a number of creatures or collecting trophies

The combat of The Elder Scrolls evolved over time - Arena and Daggerfall plays not like Morrowind which does not play like Oblivion or Skyrim. Why should ESO not go a step further and let itself inspire by one fantastic game like Dark Souls? It should of course not be a hard copy - I just would prefer light and heavy attacks to feel a >bit< more like swinging a weapon in a Souls/Borne game. Like @Versispellis said, swinging a weapon currently "feels like swinging a pool noodle at something in the next county. It just feels bad and floaty". Why should it stay that way?

A lot of new players don't like the combat because they swing their weapons more than using skills. Make light and heavy attacks more fun and more people will stay! Even thou spamming light and heavy attacks is considered as playing the game wrong - changing them into something different by giving them a Souls/Bourne-ish touch may open a new Playstyle which makes the game more diverse and in turn even more fun to play!

    4. Lore of any Star Wars of Warhammer 40k game - in compare to those giants TES lore is a tiny fantasy pocket. Hundreds of novels, stories, rulebooks, movies and comics created these two titans. I wish TES would have same dedication of writers as the other two have, but for now we have how many novels? 2 or 3..

ESO has amazing, breathing world, PVP (both BG and Cyrodiil) and interesting/challenging economic. Everything else is very mediocre..Storytelling I would find under the average.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the main thing why Im here - constant content updates which keep the player base healthy and mean that we will get more shiny content in the future (healthy populatio = more money = more content). If Swtor would have the same situation, i would leave ESO in a second :)

Skyrim is a natural evolution from Oblivion. It takes a look at what Oblivion does wrong and does it better in the next game.
Skyrim allows dual wielding of various weapons and spells was a natural improvement from the limited weapon system in Oblivion and Morrowind.
ESO adds dodge rolling to give players more maneuverability and adds scenarios where players have to be aware of their environment and enemies actions in case they have to quickly get out of the way.
They don't look at other games and say "We should do that" they look at their game and say "what could we do better, what could we add that we have wanted to but couldn't in the past"
ESO's crafting system is a clear evolution from Skyrim's, now allowing players to deconstruct items
I can look at the previous Elder Scroll games and say "Yes that is Elder Scrolls"
I definitely don't look at Elder Scrolls and say, "Y'know I wish this franchise played more like Dark Souls"
If I want Dark Souls than I'll play Dark Souls or another japanese made fantasy game like Monster Hunter and/or Dragon's Dogma.

Dark Souls is a completely different style of combat and aesthetic. It basically has people swinging anime sized weapons like Monster Hunter.
Imo I feel the weight of weapons in ESO combat. When I am in a fight I feel that fight. There could be ways of creating more fluid combat BUT I don't want to encourage players to just click their mouse.

Elder Scrolls is in a very different situation in comparison to Star Wars and Warhammer.
For starters Books and other games have to leave the events of the games vague enough in order let the Players version of events remain cannon. They will never identify the Dragonborn's race and gender because every combination is cannon.
It leaves more up to the player. The Player is the special person that can essentially achieve god status, so it has to leave everything be player determined at the detriment to the story.
Warhammer the player is generally a minor player in large forces. Your choices matter little if at all.

I like Elder Scrolls lore plenty but lets face it. Elder Scrolls, Fantasy side of Warhammer, and especially WoW is highly derivative of Tolkien's work. They're not really that original or unique.
ES was essentially a D&D setting, which was a game that started as an avenue for people to play in Tolkien's world.
Warhammer was basically D&D but applied to armies

I mean the Lizard people in both franchises have cultures reminiscent of Aztec culture, and WoW did the same thing with their Trolls. So original.

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.

Edit: I am on console so there is no add-on for this. Shouldn’t even need an add-on for this though honestly, it should just have been a feature of the game since day 1.

If not an primary Auction house, a actual search tool. Talk about basic, not sure how this isnt in the game.

All the functions as far as keeps and resource from Warhammer online

Duel Spec saves. Let us save two specs Skills/Morphs, attribute points, gear and CP. Have more saves via crown store.

A CC immunity that actually works. No one should ever be CC'd while killed. DMG should break Stuns, Roots, Fears.

When more then 2 ppl are hiting mobs let the two highest DPSers get the exp.

I see where you are coming from and agree that The Elder Scrolls Online should still feel like an Elder Scrolls game in the end. I don't want every mechanic from Souls/Borne be implemented here, just some adjustments to light and heavy attacks in terms of moveset and weight. In my opinion there should be more than 'right swing' and 'left swing'. Giving weapons an identity outside of skills is nothing I would consider bad or anti-TES. Dark Souls hits the nail when it comes to weapon weight - swinging a 1h sword looks and feels like swinging a 1h sword, swinging Greatsword looks and feels like swinging a Greatsword. "It just works" our lord and savior Godd Howard would say! Did you light attack with a Greatsword in this game? Not really fun to do and watch unfold - if you ask me. A lot of people also didn't look at The Elder Scrolls and said "Y'know I wish this franchise played more like an MMORPG with Skills, PvP and Trials" and here we are! Was it a bad decision? For some yes - we're still hated for "letting this game, which is not even TES stay alive" and "prevent the development of TES 6". We both probably love this game and disagree with those claims.

What I want to tell you is - try to imagine: what if..? Maybe when my (and others) ideas wouldn't be just ideas but reality, the combat you thought of being impossible, are the best thing in any TES game to date for ya (:

Dark Souls is a completely different style of combat and aesthetic. It basically has people swinging anime sized weapons like Monster Hunter.
Imo I feel the weight of weapons in ESO combat. When I am in a fight I feel that fight. There could be ways of creating more fluid combat BUT I don't want to encourage players to just click their mouse.

Not every weapon in Dark Souls is an "anime sized weapon" - I loved my Broadsword and Claymore. I also wouldn't put Dark Souls and Monster Hunter in one bag - Monster Hunter is... well... a bit more "creative" with their weapons. *cough* Gunlance *cough*.

Like I said above - I'm not happy with the weight and feel. But in the end it all comes down to personal preference (:

Who knows! Maybe ZOS will surprise us with something that makes us both happy - I'm looking forward to that moment.

Till then: let's enjoy TESO like it is for now - because it's an amazing game nonetheless! See ya in Tamriel!

When in a group and everyone is looking at the map, make a way to mark a location so that everyone can see it at the same time. Describing things that don't exist on someone else's map and trying to coordinate would be so easy with a single pin drop or echo blip...

you mean like shift + left click?

Having a bank that alphabetized from A-Z when you first opened it would be a nice feature.

    1. Like someone mentioned large world bosses like GW2. Add some tougher mobs that are mobile around the zone.
    2. The ability to choose the difficulty of instances where I can make it harder so I can duo with a friend. Games such as City of Heroes and I believe Age of Conan did this.
    2. Reactionary melee combat like Daoc where if you parry or block (and you hear it) it opens up other skills with bleeds, more damage, knockdowns, etc. With our limited abilitiy bars this could pose a problem.
    3. Battlegrounds from WoW, War, and Daoc. I loved all of these games BGs. ESO's are not even close.
    4. a real, non aedric, spear using class like the Warden in Lotro.
    5. The player music system from Lotro where people could actual play instruments.
    6. EQ2 auction house system where you could buy from the AH with additional charge or go to the sellers house and purchase cheaper. Ultima online also had a cool system where you hired merchants outside of your house. Could give us a reason to go to players houses/rooms.
    7. GW2 or Lotro pet controls. Having to heavy attack to choose target is dumb and clunky. I expected way more from a newer MMO. Having a pet control box also enabled a button for additional pet abilities you could control as needed.
    8. EQ2 guild search function in game. I really liked be able to look up guilds by type and reading about them , and being able to contact right in game.
    9. Collision detection in Warhammer. The ability to form a shield wall of players in PVP when a keeps gates or doors went down was so cool.
    10. Better animations, especially in combat. I feel a lot of the abilities are boring, especially the choice of spammables.
    11. Speaking of #10 how about a morphable system for all of our skills like Diablo 3 does. Being able to take a skill and make it go from flame to ice or lighting to physical with additional effects would be very cool.
    11. Finisher move animations for combat like Age of Conan and Skyrim. Since ESO has pretty much blown off PVP then it's time to add finishing moves to the combat. At least have it where it's turned off in PVP.
    11. Minigames like cards, checkers, etc need to be added to taverns. I don't know of any other game that does this but MMOs need to offer more to get us to socialize and give us other non combat gaming options.
    12. Make vampire and werewolf world skills be based off of highest stat so we can mix them up between stamina and magica. A werewolf with Warden would act more like a shape shifting druid and a vamp with a warrior would be like a death knight.
    13. Weather from Witcher 3. I like the wind effect.
    14. Darker, creepier environments. I mean if I'm in some monster infested hellhole limit the light sources and have some truly dark areas that make you think twice about stepping into. Needs more fear effect. I don't know if anyone is familiar with it but there are numerous areas in GW2 where you're in some super dark caves, etc. I mean they have a jumping puzzle cave that was so dark I was throwing torches on my ranger just so I could see ahead of me. Pretty cool stuff.

I've got a ton more just not enough time at the moment to finish the list.
