Could the sorcerer pet summons be changed to insta cast/have health displayed like group health does

like playing my sorcerer as a healer but it can be costly if you don't realize your pet is dead and you go to use the heal... It might make them a bit more useful in pvp as well... Also is there an add-on that informs you when your pet dies? Is there something that people use to keep track of it?

Unless you are willing to be a mindless sycophant and/or coddle others due to their insecurities prepare to be harrased by the Orwellian enforcers on these forums. You should also try to refrain from using any words more complex than those used by a small child due to the fact that said enforcers have made it clear that their vocabulary pool is aenemic.

:p yeah, yeah...i guess in the more difficult dungeons your pet never gets out of your site or goes attacks a random mob away from you and you are so great you don't have to focus on the action and lose track of the pet... But maybe for those not as great as you?

Pets should have their own health bar on the screen just like when you are grouped with other players.

I'm sure addons could allow this but we don't have this option on console.

And as for the topic, I would not be opposed to each of the Sorc pets to have a morph that allows instant cast.

You don't have this ability on console? I know on PC there is an in-game option to view pet healthbars by choosing to show healthbars on Friendly NPCs in your nameplate settings.

Yeah... I agree they should have a health bar... Does anyone know if there is an add-on for that for PC?

NB already gets an instant cast shade pet.

Only one morph each would make it fair:
    -Matriarch
This would make Sorc PvP healers more viable.
    -Clanfear
The Scamp would be the unbalanced choice lol.

And this is coming from someone who primarily plays NBs.

That just shows the bar over it's head though, right? It's needs a health bar like the group health bars show

Well then You have to create connection between Your eyes and Your fingers because there are commands to control Your pets. You can call them back to You or make them to attack certain target so You can always keep the track on them.

Yeah, and you could argue just about everything is"viable" depending on how you play, what you do and how good you are... But that doesn't make them optimal, preferred or your best option

The only control you actually have is that they attack who you heavy attack.

The shade does no noticable damage. The shade provides a one time port. Pets are up infinitely, and with pets up, you are unkillable. Scamp does too much damage, twilight does too much healing. Instant cast pets removes counterplay.

I don't really know about that....templars have breath of life and it doesn't make them unkillable...even with an insta cast pet I would still prefer bol over the pet heal...but if it really is unbalanced I still wonder why there isn't a health bar we can see like you have for yourself or you have for your group

No. Have you ever used a scamp pet or clanfear in pvp? It dies all the time cause it stands in stupid aoes and just gets wiped over and over.

Yes which is why I'm on board for one morph of each pet being instant cast.

You can enable a health bar, you enable friendly NPC health bars, they will have a health bar above their heads along with all other friendly NPCs.

Just go Nameplates > Healthbars > Friendly NPCs to enable this.

The desire for a pet healthbar on the left side of the screen, like group healthbars, is where I think everyone is going with this.

Sounds like a pretty basic feature that should probably already be in the game

You'd think there'd be an addon that can grant this incredibly basic feature, but I don't recall having come across one. Maybe one is out there.

Depends what pets you use too. The Banekin and Twilight I find hardly ever leave my side... Clanfears on the other hand... well you can be in Stonefalls and they're over in Auridon causing Dolmen Lag for everybody near Vulkhel.

Sadly it does come down to using the green bar above their heads (might even have to be turned on in settings, don't remember)

Otherwise there's nothing to guide you.

If you have the Twilight with the self-heal upgrade that also affects 1 ally, you often are able to keep your other pets alive longer, as she sometimes heals them too.

The more time you spend with pets, the more you track them in the corner of your eyes and don't even think about it consciously. It just becomes second nature but takes time.

Will try it. But pets aren't always in the line of sight. My twilight is often behind me and during intense combats I often find out she's been dead for quite a while.
