I'm a bit new to this game but I love it. Unfortunately my dps is too low. I'm using a Dark Elf vampire, stamsorc with a molag kena monster set, red mountain armor and gryphon jewelry and weapons. I'm using dual wield axes and a bow on my backbar. As far as abilities go, I'm using dark deal, bound armor on both bars, endless hail, poison injection, flurry, crit surge, that dual slash ability, deadly cloak and that electric cloak. Sorry for not being very clear on the last few abilities, I don't remember their names. I tested all of this on a dummy(3mil) and I only got 8k dps. I do okay in some vet dungeons but it feels like I'm not pulling my weight and in some dungeons I just get kicked for being useless. Can anyone offer advice?

Unfortunately, as hard as ZOS try to balance every play style, I find that it's hard to avoid "meta" build ideas when getting competitive DPS. I don't know much about stamsorcs but I'd suggest finding a build either on the forum or on one of the popular websites to get started (Alcast or Deltia).

I think stamina sorcerer is a particularly challenging set up to start with when trying to get to 20k+ dps for the first time, but it can certainly be done. Take a look at some builds and try to follow along with one of them and you should be parsing higher in no time.

As a side note: Don't let getting kicked from dungeons bother you. Some players are very elitist about group content and it can really discourage learning players. I used to hate dungeons because I never felt good enough but working hard at my build and finding regular groups of players at the same level as me slowly turned dungeons into my favorite ESO content.

Hey OP. From someone who ran a Dark Elf stam build for quite a while i can tell you that all hope is not lost. Although you'd be better with a mag based build you can still run a viable stam build and be effective. Like all builds it takes a little practice. I'll add a viable build for you below that will work for you :-)

Dagger of Hundings Rage // Nirnhoned // Poison Damage Glyph
Dagger or Axe of Hundings Rage // Infused // Weapon Damage Glyph
Bow of Hundings Rage // Nirnhoned // Disease Damage Glyph (Double DoT poisons would be better suited for extra damage but you'll be fine without)

Velidreth or Selenes // Divine // Max Stam Glyph // Heavy Weight
Velidreth or Selenes // Divine // Max Stam Glyph // Medium Weight

Jack of Hundings Rage // Divine // Max Stam Glyph // Medium Weight
    Sprggan's Bracers //Divine //Max Stam Glyph //Medium Weight
Belt of Hundings Rage // Divine //Max Stam Glyph //Medium Weight
Spriggan's Guards // Divine // Max Stam Glyph // Medium Weight
Boots of Hundings Rage // Divine // Max Stam Glyph //Medium Weight

Spriggan's Necklace // Robust // Weapon Damage Glyph
Spriggan's Ring // Robust // Weapon Damage Glyph
Spriggan's Ring // Robust // Weapon Damage Glyph

Note: You can also have the Head, Chest and Legs in Infused and the build will still work as intended. The reason for this is that they are what is called "big" pieces so the Glyph on them gets a higher stat boost than on other body pieces so paired with Infused the boost is even higher.

Note 2: You can replace Hundings with Ravager or Briarheart for an extra damage boost (due to the 5 piece bonuses they offer), but this will get costly buying the weapons (more so in the right traits) or time consuming farming them.

For skill bars the following should work well for you:

Front bar - Deadly Cloak //Bound Armaments //Rending Slashes // Shrouded Dagger //Hurricane
    Ultimate - Flawless Dawnbreaker

Back bar - Poison Injection // Bound Armaments // Endless Hail // Rearming Trap // Razor Caltrops
    Ultimate - Greater Storm Atronach

Note: There are better setups but i found this works for me.

Note 2: Swap out Bound Armaments on both bars and slot Crit Surge on the back bar and Resolving Vigor on the front bar if you're running solo content.

    CP

    Green:
    Warlord - 44 //Mooncalf - 75 // Tenacity - 56 // Tumbling - 44 // Shadow Ward - 31

    Blue:
    Master-at-Arms - 40 // Thaumaturge - 66 // Migyty - 64 //Precise Strikes - 48 //Piercing - 32

    Red:
    Ironclad - 56 //Spell Sheild 29 // Thick Skinned - 48 // Hardy - 49 // Elemental Defender - 49 // Quick Recovery - 19

Note: This is my Summerset setup, i haven't revisited since Wolfhunter but this setup should still be viable.

This build uses Essence of Weapon Power potions (Increase Weapon Damage, Crit, Stam Recovery, Restore Stam).

    LA - Light Attack
    HA - Heavy Attack
    Swap - Change Bars

    Pre Fight
    Potion > Trap > Cloak > Hurricane > Swap

    Rotation
    Back bar - LA > Hail > LA > Trap > LA Caltrops > LA > Injection > Swap
    Front bar - HA > Rending > HA > Daggers > HA > Daggers > LA > Hurricane > LA > Cloak > Swap and repeat.

Note: When running solo or easier content i don't use the potions and rely on heavy attacks for restring stamina. Potions i reserve for harder / veteran content and trials.

There are definitely more viable setups than mine but this one should do you well and will also work for completing vMA when you're ready. Even if you don't use this setup i hope you it helps and gives you something to work on for your own build, and as i mentioned i ran this as a Dark Elf and had no issues what so ever.

That might be the most inaccurate statement I have seen on the forums in months. If you want to play Stam, Sorc is far and away the easiet class to test the waters. You have easy access to major brutality, self heals and will do some of the best AOE damage in the game. 20k is a ridiculously low standard for Stam DPS in this game. Stam is certainly trickier to play than magic, but Sorc is as easy as it gets.

OP, your gear could probably use some tweaking, but it’s not the reason you are only doing 8k. if your DPS is that low, your rotation stinks (sorry, no nice way to say that).

I would go with very traditional bars. There are slightly better bars for damage, especially if going for a dynamic rotation, but when learning you want simple and circular.

Bow: Hail, caltrops, PI, rearming trap, power surge, ballista.

DW: shrouded daggers, rending slashes, bound armaments, Hurricane, Flex, flawless dawnbreaker.

Flex could be steel tornado for more AOE, evil hunter for the crit, deadly cloak for mitigation or vigor for an extra heal. You can also use the psijic spammable instead of daggers for a bit more ST damage, but personally I prefer shrouded daggers for most things.

Rotation: hail, PI, trap, caltrops, bar swap, rending, Hurricane, deadly cloak, daggers x2-3, bar swap.

Keep up power surge and cast baillista on cooldown. Weapon power pots are best, but with surge you can cheap out on them if you want. You certainly don’t need them to break 30k, but you will want the regen from trash pots either way.

After that it’s about light attack weaving and good bar swap cancelling. You shouldn’t need to do more than 1-2 heavy attacks per rotation.

Keep at it. The rotation is basically a giant circle, just takes practice.

Dont use ravager on any samt DD except stamlar, it have awfull uptime (only stamplar have good uptime due to ravager is proced by bitting jabs and burning light pasive) only exception is if oyu have relequen set from Cloudres trial, bc proc from this set procing ravager proc.
