CP Allocation (The Warrior): mDK SnB/Destro

I usually run on my 5l/1m/1h mDK with SnB and Inferno Staff on my back bar. I've recently transmuted two of my arcane Silks of the Sun rings into protective. (28.5k phys and spell resist when buffed)
I've always had 56 points into Ironclad and Thick Skinned (for an even 20%) and about 15 points into Hardy and Elemental defender. One of my guildies was talking about how I should allocate points away from Ironclad and Thick Skinned and place them toward Hardy and Elemental Defender... even though it's lower percentage increases. Apparently, Hardy and Elemental defender are more useful?
Could anyone elaborate and/or give me a suggestion as to better allocation? I usually feel pretty tanky… but if I can improve...
