Reasons why to make vampire bites and werewolf bites free

To be fairly honest... time. There are people that literally stay there for hours at a time trying to sell a bite doing absolutely nothing. If it takes you more than 10 minutes it is not an effective way to make money if you are trying to sell for like 5k a bite. There are far more worthwhile things to do.

Correct. On top, only newcomers might buy those bites. All residents have friends or a guild mate, who will bite them. So basically they scam new players.

I've talked to some and they were literally at it for 2 days trying to sell "A" bite... I think the selling bites thing puts a bad stigma of ways to make money for things.

Vampires and Warewolves could have been something really nice in the game. ZOS lost control of it back in 2014 when people were camping NPCs,charging millions. Really, they should re-think all of this. Create some kind of Silver Dawn NPS in the wild that hunt players and, if caught, force cure them. So that the population is reset and there is a chance to make things better.

You should not buy a bite. You should deserve it.

i also bite for free, vampire and werewolf, and it's funny to see how the whole zone chat talks people down if they offer to sell a bite for 20k XD i think that is cool, especially when they try it in starter zones with their high prices
I saw this once in zone chat too, was on one of my vamp toons and asked my gf if it would be okay if i just quickly bite that person before they get scammed and then i made the day for that newbie c: yay!

People should stop being greedy and more social, we should be nice to eachother - especially people that just joined the game since every action can turn them away and quit

I got a bite for free, so I always bite for free.
If I see someone in chat advertising a bite for a fee, and I have one available, I'll speak up and offer it for free.
I'm also part of a guild that gives free bites for all members who want them.

I've seen players, in seriousness, ask for 20k a bite. Charging is ridiculous. Seems like a scam. It literally takes a total of 5 minutes at most to go to a shrine and bite no matter where you are on the map. You're time is not THAT valuable, I don't care what you're doing or how much time you have to play. It's a poor excuse I've seen used to justify charging.

So true, it is nice and refreshing to see others have fun while playing the game... it is NOT fun to see others get scammed. This includes those gold seller sites as well... -.-'
I will admit since they made it so that you can gift crowns I have been hearing far less people fall for those 4 gold scam sites. Still not encouraging for the seeing crowns getting sold tho.

How much is one crown again? something like 250g for 1 crown? Damn, that would be expensive for a new player...
Then i rather bite them all for free so that the new person can spend that money for backpack and bank upgrades

but one can't change a persons mind, especially if they don't know better and think its 'THE DEAL' (tm) ^^'

It is the cliche people are used to for terms. Then again according to lore there is many ways a vampire can infect someone, scratches are one as well.

I disagree with this.

When a player is offering to buy or one is offering to sell in zone chat there are usually multiple people who mention if they wait they can get it free. People don't pay for the bite. They pay to have it right now at this moment because they don't feel like waiting.

Personally, my bites are free. If they aren't used on guildmates, I will use it on someone who asks in zone chat but only if they are already at the shrine. If they aren't then someone else who is there will get it, if nobody is there nobody gets it.

Eh, I get a Devour proc and the animation is definitely biting. If anything it is the vamps that don't bite. They more of do a blood funnel suction thing.

Only player vamp chars definitely don't bite. They only do some scary blood fountain animation.

I don't charge for bites, but it is nobody's business if I accept something from someone I have bitten who is grateful.
It is truly between the parties concerned and anything else is just butt-in-skis at work.

They are technically free if a player bites/scratches you. Some people just charge for it.
I always do the vampire bites/blood draining for free; it’s not something I’d ever charge for.
There are far better ways to earn gold than selling these things. That, and it takes mere seconds to actually do the animation. So you can be on your way much quicker too without having to wait for a payment.
Eh, asking for payment is just ridiculous imo. So yeah, ask players for vampire bites and werewolf scratches, hope that they do it for free and there ya go!

ZoS could just put a 24/7 npc at the shrines with a quest dialogue that when you interact with them bites you at the end. That would save people time, but I am sure their crown store sells a few bites from people who are too lazy to make friends or look for the full moons npcs.

Most people give them for free, and, if you truly want it for free... Just get bit? You know, bloodfiends and werewolves, they can infect you with lycantrophy and vampirism. Seems like that fact is lost on people.

They are kind of fun to go look for, but since they only pop every few nights it can be a bother if you don't have a really free calendar. Everyone I know has like 10 vampires so it's never hard to find a bite.

You can also find Bloodfiends and Werewolves at night in the 5th zone of each alliance.

Just like the old saying, why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free? This all started by players charging inflated prices for bites back when ww/vamp were introduced. I know because that's why I started offering it for free, to kill that unfair market. Also, I 100% disagree with any notion that player's time in-game is not worth anything. This is exactly why they ask for bites from other players vs getting bitten by npc enemies. If play time were worthless there would be no market for motifs, everyone would be farming them.

Because people begged for them to add it to the crown store for years. Crown store version also doesn't require doing the quest you have to do when you get bit via player or mob.

There's been multiple times where i had just walked up to a vamp/werewolf shrine, and there was a single person standing there, and they immediately gave me a bite interaction before I even stopped walking.

Why anyone would pay is beyond me

And I often run up to the shrines, and bite someone standing there, then go back about my business.
