VMA is a neat idea but it comes with so many issues, and there are so many players that are capable and competent in group play who will never touch / defeat VMA. Adding more gear to something that so many players can't reap the benefits from is a waste. Normal trials are very accessible by comparison, and they're actually group content in this massively multiplayer game

vMA with this much CP is insanely easy at this point. If you cant do vMA you probably weren't actually too competent to begin with

vMA is easier because you've done it a bunch of times, has nothing to do with more CP.

Proven by the point that people have done it with 0 CP spent. it's all about memorization.

Just because it's been done with 0 CP, doesn't make it easy.

Memorization is a part of it but a 780 has a ton more defenses and DPS than someone with 0 CP

Although new 3 piece sets would be nice, I don't think placing them in vMA would be the best choice. I would rather have these types of sets be obtained from new dallies or purchasable with Tel Var. Also they should be bind-on-equip.

    Favorite Foods and Potions
    https://media.giphy.com/media/3otPoTggaYFNd1FdAI/giphy.gif
    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

I mean, the more damage you do, the less damage you take (blue tree). The more resistances and mitigation you have the less likely you are too die (red tree). And the more recovery or cost reduction you have the longer you'll be able to continuously deal damage or use tools like block or dodge roll to mitigate damage and therefore are less likely to die (green tree).

    Why's vMA
These new sets idea will be like:
1: Is this set medicre? If it's a yes, then it mostly will be a craftable set in a new zone/dungeons.
2: Is this set decent? If it's a yes, then it probably will in new dungeons and maybe trials.
3: Is this set not only decent but also a little bit over-performing? If it's a yes, then it'll be in new trials

So far, there's not that many sets reworked that're actually decent. And iirc they've not add any new sets in old content as well.

I mean, new sets idea will never be enough. So, if I was developer, I would rather put these new sets in new zones/dungeons/trials.

But yes, as a player, I would love to see more sets ofc.

I know many players with health issues that prevent them from doing things like vMA. That you find it easy doesn't mean that everybody in the game finds it easy. Also there are some players that have little interest in DPS and prefer to heal of tank.

That aside probably better to add jewelry somewhere else in the game. People already complain about how long it takes to get the weapon of choice. Adding to the pool will make getting what you want even harder.

Luckily, you don't need weapons from vMA to heal and tank...and if someone cannot do vMA for health reasons, they probably also cannot do enough DPS while doing boss mechanics to where a staff necessarily matters to them...and that's perfectly okay.

This is specifically referring to people who feel as if they need to do vMA and feel they are deserving of a weapon without being able to do the trial.

Well that would be a conversation for another thread as this thread was about adding jewelry to the drop pool. The OP suggested jewelry specific to healers and tanks. Locking that behind solo content that is DPS centric doesn't seem like a good idea.
I do agree with you, if you want the gear you should do the content.

Soooooo....you mean people who get carried? That's sure sounds like it to me.

I'm not worried about the players that "can't reap the benifits" because if they can't make it through vet maelstrom at this point then they dont have a need for said gear.

There's the "tanks can't do maelstrom" well guess what, the main tank in my guild has his flawless conqueror on his tank, and 3 other characters. Every dd that's on the raid groups in my trials guilds has a maelstrom back at. We can do it and it damn sure wouldn't be a waste.

Dont try to restrict the gear options for the people that do endgame content because they are very few options to begin with. That will put off good players even more and help push them to leave the game. If that happens then whose backpack are those guys gonna jump in?

For the love of all that is holy, leave some hard content in this game. 4% of not less is for your hard core guys. Over land is a joke, public dungeons is a joke, delves are a joke, most dungeons are a joke, normal mode on trials is a joke. Once you learn mechanics then maelstrom is a joke. Leave some *** that's hard for once and quit worrying about if the guy that plays an hour every 3 months can get the BiS gear or do the "hardest" content.

That aside probably better to add jewelry somewhere else in the game. People already complain about how long it takes to get the weapon of choice. Adding to the pool will make getting what you want even want

If they are that bad off why are they on the game? I mean holy ***, papaw dont need to get 1shot irl by a mushroom.

Because they enjoy playing the game. And that is all you need to know.

If it came with an optional hard mode that increased the chance of getting jewelry, or whatever the new gear would be, I'm all for it. Give us "new" content and a reason to run it.

I’ll stick with my argument that there shouldn’t even be any new sets added for awhile. There are way too many useless sets that need reworked. I know not all sets are going to be top notch but some of these are laughable.

Well all they need to know is not to interject information that might affect close to another million or so players that like to do hard and exciting content and stick to killing mudcrabs in Auridon instead of worrying about what drops in Maelstrom arena or any other endgame content for that matter.

You strayed well away from the topic but what the hey. Someone mentioned that vMA was/is easy and if you can't do it you are not competent. I provided an example of someone who can't do vMA but might well be competent in the rest of the game. The people I know that have an injury or illness that affects their dexterity really are not worried about vMA in the least. They are not asking for an easier version of vMA nor have I heard any of them mention wanting normal to drop like vet does.

I expressed my opinion that we shouldn't have more gear that would be essentially used for group content locked behind solo content.

Nice to have a goal and a good prize

VMA is a great solo challenge with no reward as I see it now

    Why's vMA
I would rather have this idea implemented in a new 4 man content like vdsa. Also, I would put the emphasis on pvp rather than pve for these gear sets.

He's talking about the sets, not the maelstrom weapons.

The current sets are garbage and basically are just extra crafting mats. Since vMA is solo content, why not just drop sets that are great for solo content but not BiS for group content?

Anyways, I'd also be in favor of removing those sets entirely and just rewarding crafting mats, alchemy mats, undaunted plunder, upgrade mats, etc.
