Canabilism?

I am not sure if this is nothing new but I just noticed it. For example if I am fighting 2 spiders, I kill the first one, then the second spider starts eating/devouring the dead spider to become bigger or get health. You can see the health bar increasing. I also see it being done with some zombies. Is this something new or a bug or was always there and I just noticed it?

I thought the spiders always did that. At least it's something I can remember seeing for a long time.

Far as I know they've always done that. FYI, they'll also do it even if the first spider killed was one of the little tiny ones that drop fishing bait.

Spiders are under Nimira domain, even-though they are also accioated with Mephala, so not exactly out of character for them to be cannibals

Maybe spiders are bosmers in larval state?

This, but no bosmer can not restore health this way :)
But its an quest in Reaper march there you prevent a lady from getting eaten.

And spiders eating to restore health has been in the game since launch.
The weirdest stuff is the beach trolls who throw mudcrabs at you, if they miss the crab become hostile to the troll.
You also has the wasp pet.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Spiders have -always- nommed dead stuff to recover HP. No matter if it was their nest-siblings, or the ranger who summoned them (back in the days when ranger summons did not dissapear at the summoners demise anyhow)

...where do you think all the porky meat in grahtwood comes from when there are no boars to be seen? Indeed, it is as some suspect...
(But what really vexes some is that PC wood elves cannot loot provisioning ingredients from slain humanoids... just sayin... on the other hand, at least PC bosmer -can- use veggie ingredients in their food buffs without getting cursed and lynched by their fellows, so...)

That has been in the game since launch back in 2014. It's one of the spiders' main abilities. The first boss in Spindleclutch does it too.
