Is it melee?
it can be applied from range but technically its very much wind hitting you in melee range. Whatever ZoS chose as explanation is good enough to support both variants.
Is it direct?
Same answer as above. It has good reason to be direct and it has good reason to be DoT except it acts as direct for something like selene yet doesnt act as direct for something like CP -> thats the only sure bug0
