Asheron's Call 2

Greetings fellow older players,

Has any of you played AC2 back in the days? It was my first MMO, so I have fond memories of it.

Sometimes playing ESO reminds me of this MMO:

- There was a skill named winged feet (Warden Falcon's swiftness)
- There was a skill Eye of the Storm, a self centered lightning AoE.
- The dying animation of drudges (enemies in AC2) is the same as the dying animation of the small daedra.
- There was a class: Tumerok invoker, which could invoke some shady spirits that did a debuff on an enemy (like Dark Shades)
- Sometimes when I see a group of people pass by on their guar mounts, it reminds of the enemy XP grind hunting on the AC2 mounts.
- There was also a 3 banner war, with 1 faction called The Dominion.
- One could play lute, flute and drum!

So I was wondering if any of you found other ressemblences?
Are the ressemblences I found coincidence? Do I see things that are not there? Or did the Devs play AC2 as well?

PS: I played as a Tumerok Invoker, dealing damge with a drum, how awesome was that :-)
And so the Elder Scrolls foretold. You will be shy, and I will be bold.

I played AC 1 and saw the AC 2 beta. I will just say that whatever that cat lady was doing in the character creation screen made me uncomfortable and titter.

AC1 was the most fun I have ever had in an MMO. My favorite character was xbow with support item/life magic. While it was considered one of the weaker weapons to use, I just didn't care. Shooting a crossbow in AC1 was a ton of fun.

Wow they had crossbows?! Must have been after my time.

I had a pink atlatl with 6 upgrades (imagine how many atlatlas I destroyed to get that!) and am quite certain I'm the only person that had a high level TW player. Permared lol.

I love AC1..such an awesome game, I use to love fighting in the Lugian Citadel. The sounds in that game were really great and made you feel like you were there. I remember as a newb running from shreth and hearing their thunderous hooves behind me. I missed 2 due to playing another MMO.

I love AC1, played it for years and beta tested AC2.

I've been looking for NA PvE guilds with AC players for sooo long, if youre in one please invite this lost AC1 veteran: @Arasys in game.

Wish ESO had a complete open world like AC did (at least few items in the game look like virindi masks  )

I remember fondly running in a huge pack on Thistledown to get the new hollow weapons....

then 75% of my guild left for DAoC

Want to know something really strange? There was no API for AC 1 and I sat and watched my friend, with whom I played, create ACarm. Suit up, cast your spells on your armor, and go. Such a genius. He basically reverse engineered his own interface for addons.

They had heavy and light crossbows from the start. We started playing in the open beta and they were in the game.

I can see some vague similarities.....however, sometimes it's almost uncanny how much ESO reminds me of EQ2, even some of the art assets and lighting in Vvardenfell.

I was in AC1 from the start on thisledown! Loved hanging with the og Tim the enchanter.
I remember my first 113% bow.. he buffed with item enchanting, and I was one shooting everything.
Exploring new lands as a noob and the vitae system was a rush

Yeah, we were so happy when AC2 introduced macros! I can remember running Applesauce for hours on end farming gold! Before AC2, and before AC1, we played The Forth Coming! Now that is going back a way!
