Mage's Wrath kill steals is still an issue in deathmatch

I have more assists than the rest of my team has kills. If I take someone down to execute range and someone swoops in and hits them with an executioner or impale this is reasonable. Sorcerer's shouldn't be able to hit people with wrath from across the map and then run off to fight someone else waiting for their free kills to proc.

No one said nerf; a change in function doesn't necessarily mean that a skill will be better or worse. I also advocated against the ruin cage nerf but that's a different discussion.

Playing as a magDK in a BG the other day, I got a random deathmatch. While I'm not a great player by any means I only got one kill and, I'm not exaggerating in any way, 12 "Enemy team stole the kill on...". Half the other teams were NBs and sorcs spamming execute. I laughed about it, but it still made me not want to play BGs anymore for the next few days

My score is in white letters. The other players on my team have the gross looking beige color.

Also you get the same 100 points for kills and assists - so get over it and be part of a team.

That match was was actually just me strategically spamming Mages' Fury.

Tough to say whether or not you should make it based on damage or just plainly nerf the amount of points killing blows get you.

OMG I am referring to 'who cares who gets the kills'. Also maybe post a screenshot that doesn't have someone else's score highlighted before you start complaining.

I don't care for execute bots. They are totally useless once you focus them out. It's a Battleground, nobody cares how many kills you made, as long as your team wins. Perhaps you just be thankful that they have carried you to victory and move on.

In solo play however, you definately notice this nerf. Fighting anyone in medium armor has become very unreliable and this spell is really not great anymore. I loved it for how reliable it was, which is now gone. I will further test this and then decide, if there is not something more reliable to replace it with.

Just because I disagree with the entire premise, does not mean I don't understand it.

In short: Stop complaining. It's part of a game, just play it or change class if you can't be happy. Or make another entitled thread that we've already seen countless times.

No, just kidding-ish...but the sorc is the class with that skill, it would open so many doors to people trying to apply that logic to SO MANY SKILLS from other classes....I think it might start a big mess.

Yeah, you didn't do anything. If your kills were being stolen by Mage's Wrath, you'd see a ton of assists. But, you don't, because you didn't do any relevant damage to the target. Not, just you didn't get the kill, you didn't even do enough damage to them to mark them as, "oh, yeah, I'm helping, guys, honest."

This is what two sorcs stealing kills with Mage's Wrath looks like:



Number 3 was a Templar. I forget what 4's class was, I think Nightblade.

Lots of assists, no kills: That's stolen credit.

Lots of nothing, no kills: Nothing was stolen from you.

EDIT: You died six times, and got 1 kill, btw.

I see where you're coming from but this could potentially reverse the problem and make it unattractive for sorcs to use their execute at all. The skill itself is balanced its just the way that it interacts with scoring in deathmatch where I see a problem.

Nope. He was crushing, but after he did all the damage, an enemy sorc’s Wrath execute got the killing blow despite said enemy being ages away from the fighting. His assists are so high because the last 1-2% of hp got nipped by an execute.

So instead of having 20+ kills as solo points for those, now despite doing comparably little damage, a team of enemy sorcs could match his score.

Playing a MagDK which i have mained for a long time is a nightmare in BGs. 5-4 with 20 assist is basically how i look most games

I took a poor picture so that's my fault. MY score is the one on the top in white letters and the purple outline is where my cursor was placed. I think you also missed the point of the thread. I don't care about how many assists / kills I get in reference to my team because these numbers literally mean nothing.

Okay, that makes more sense. And, yeah, if you're in deathmatch right now, make sure you pack an execute. Which makes life awkward for Wardens and DKs, but still.
