I'm currently on my third Gaming Laptop Keyboard that's loosing keyboard functionality. Am I just hard on keys?

None. I only game on my laptop when I travel, but have spent 40+ hours a week typing on a laptop for 10 years now and have never had to replace keyboard. If you're on your third one, yes you're too hard on them.

3 mouses dead, 3 time keyboard repair ( broke the W S I 1 and 4 keys) , and much more stuff i killed of my laptop cuz eso

now switched to an msi gaming laptop, much sturdyer, even less fan checks for dust as it doesnt need to spin that much for eso

imo it depends on the type of keyboard you buy.

me i'm on my 3rd since i started gaming roughly around 1995-ish
and i'm on my 4 or 5th mouse.

maybe you're just buying pore quality?

I'm about to buy my 3rd Keyboard. I have abused 2 razer keyboards and not sure if I am going to buy another. I like the razer keyboard but it can't handle the pressure, keys break too easily.

Anyone know of a good clicky keyboard?

Based on the other responses, I'm not sure I understood OPs question correctly. @SteveCampsOut are you talking about gaming keyboards, or laptop keyboards?

I usually game on my desktop where I have a 4k monitor and ESO is just gorgeous on it. So my gaming laptop keyboards don't wear out.

Same laptop for 10 years - I am impressed.
I seem to need to upgrade / replace my laptop every 3 years or so to keep current.

My old gaming laptop's keys were so damaged, we had to break them out and put an external keyboard on it. I achieved that after barely 1 year of gaming. How this thing was even functioning in the end, only Auri-El knows. Btw, those white spots in the lower left corner were deep holes inside the mantle of the laptop, caused by the acidic nature of the skin I reckon. Just to give you an example of how fierce my gaming fury was

So you are saying if I get a 4k monitor my keyboard will last forever? Silly me, why didn't I think of that.

I never use my laptop keyboard when I play ESO. I just attach an usb keyboard.

I though my original laptop keyboard in a month... this second one has lasted longer (but I have worn off the paint on the W key already).

I had this super annoying bug where w key would get stuck down and my caps lock and shift keys were flipped I just couldn't stop riding and just sort got stuck running into doors and if I tried to type in chat after sprinting/riding it was always in caps lock... I delt with it for a month before I pulled off the w to look at what was wrong with it then broke it trying to put it back on

What's a gaming laptop? (Other than an oxymoron).

Gaming = desktop, because you'll wear things out, that need to be separate pieces. (Not to mention proper cooling)

I used to have a laptop that I could play ESO on! ...Until support for DirectX 9 was dropped...

Oh well, it'll still connect to the TV to play Jackbox games.

I still use my old keyboard, but I recently replaced my mouse. I don't think it has anything to do with ESO, though, it was 3 years old and it started double-clicking sometimes.

I never had any trouble with my gaming laptops keyboards. In fact, I never had troubles with my laptops in general.
Even my oldest (around 11 years old) one is still in perfect shape, keyboard included. But of course, it cannot sustain ESO.
So I use 1 keyboard per notebooks.

Of course, doesn't a 4k monitor mean your laptop keyboard will be safe from harm. I mean, the bigger ones, 40" or larger are just perfect for keeping the gaming laptop pristine. *wink*

I use a Thinkpad travel keyboard with a pointing stick as the mouse. This is an external USB version of a laptop keyboard, and I've properly worn out one. I leave my hands in a fixed position, with the right hand middle finger on the pointing stick, the left hand middle finger on the "run" key. All other fingers stretch in various directions to the keys they can reach. This means I don't hit all keys centrally, but some only on the side. Those keys eventually wore out, becoming unresponsive or repeating keystrokes.

Still on a Logitech G15 that is at least 10 years old. In that same time I have had to go through 3 mice and 3 headsets. makes no sense
