PvP nightblade Heavy set help

hungrymagpie
Any suggestions for a heavy night blade build, I am currently using a ganking bow build but would like to get into some melee fights but would like to be more tanky

looking at 2h weapon / S & B

5 x bone pirate ( Jewellery, gloves and belt ) and x5 heavy set ( 7th legion, Ravager, truth, Hundings rage or fury’s?) and x2 monster-set

any suggestions on which skills?

Many thanks

I like 2h and bow. Trollking. Impregnable with bone pirate. Or. Impregnable with shacklebreaker would be incredible as well.

You can go medium with the stats of heavy. I've been running 5 Impreg with 5 Fortified Brass and 2 Bloodspawn. All in medium. You get extremely tanky and can still output damage.

Armor of truth. Supprise attack puts people off balance from stealth. Then you get a boost in weapon damage.

Ravanging. Takes time to build up and can fall off if you don't stick to you target but its strong.

I am still using medium in clever alchemist but you can use it in heavy instead. I also like bloodspawn.

7th/Ravager Body Truth back bar Asylum 2h or Masters DW front bar.

    Or

7th Body Ravager Front Masters Bow

    Both with troll king

Lexxy that sounds deadly for a few seconds until sustain factors in. What is your Stam recovery/Stam pool look like?

    Fascinating.

    May I ask four questions

A- What traits do you guys run, and what is your total crit resist?
B- Is there anything like too much crit resist?
C- Is it true that high crit resist makes the crits hit lower than noncrits? If so, then how lower?
D- Don't you think this set makes your burst/damage lower?

    Thanks in advance

My crit resist is around 4K. No 100% sure, would have to check. I run a mix of impen and well fitted traits. Mainly because I do not use cloak on the build.

Not sure if there is too much resist. But I do know that you cannot cause damage to be negative.

As far as burst. I run all damage glyphs with infused jewelry. I still get 3.5K buffed spell damage. And I actually run Onslaught. An ult that ignores physical resistance and has a chance to regain my ultimate back. That paired with bloodspawn on a nightblade. I can have ultimate up in 5 or 6 seconds or immediately if I kill someone with Onslaught.

I run mainly impen still. Sometimes can be divines or big pieces infused.

I am not sure on max, but I believe 4000 or 4500 may be max Crit resist.

    No idea.

No it does fine as Nightblade can be deadly as you line up your burst, skills and ult.

I will say that this is a very tanky/ defensive/ brawler build. Middle ground may be using impregnable as medium armor. Bone pirate and troll king and have a mix of defense and burst. Fortified brass and Bloodspawn is overkill. I find these to be less beneficial. Trollking is truly amazing unless you are a vampire. If you are, booodspawn is great.

As monster sets you can use:
2 pc Mighty Chudan - 3k defenses, 1k HP and Major Defense buff (5k more), that is not very useful for NB, coz we have Shadow Barrier passive
    or
Pair this set pieces: Mighty Chudan / Lord Warden / Pirate Skeleton - 6k defenses. Add here Major defense buff after every use of Shadow ability (5k more) for 7,5 seconds (with 1 piece of heavy armor)

And you can wear Medium Armor while being tanky AF (30%+ both resists), such pretty sets like: Spriggan, Vicecanon, Automaton, Twice-Fanged Serpent, Way of Air+Senche's Bite, etc - there is a lot of cheesy medium sets

If you prefer wear heavy still, then Fury (not good in 1v1 fights), Durok's Bane, Ravager and 7th legion would be your choice. You can also try Way of Fire, Veiled Heritance, Armor of Truth
Monster sets here would be some proc sets IMO, like Velidreth or Selene

Thank you everyone for discussing the different sets, im gonna try out.

    PVP open world:

Bone priate jewellery (robust and weapon dmg) bone prate belt and gloves (med with impen)
Impregnable heavy chest and legs (devine or infused)
    Impregnable mid boots (impen)
    Impregnable weapons
    Trollking head and shoulders (mid)

    Battlegrounds

    5/5 bone priate - 5/5 7th Legion and a dmg monster set.

    Loving all the feedback!

neither fury or 7th legions are good stamblade sets, you should be constently reseting fights with cloak, and in that scenario those sets are not going to be good. Truth is dead next patch, they changed the CP passive that we used to proc it.

Best heavy set you can get on a stamblade is shackle, shackle+constitution+leeching strikes will give you all the magika and stamina sustain you need, and then pair it with a full damage set like spriggans/hulking/hundings. Bone pirate in a heavy stamblade is a waste, specially consedring that the new gold food doesn't work with bone pirate.

In a nightblade all your damage should be upfront with raw stats, and not built up with sets like fury/7th. Dont build a nighblade like a Dk or a stamdem, it will suck.

2k Stam recovery 33k stam. In heavy that’s arguably more sustain than you need. 3 well fitted and leeching strikes.

I prefer the masters DW setup. 2h Axe Masters Axe+Dagger Nirn 2h Nirn+Infused on DW with berserk and shock glyphs.

Heavy Shacklebreaker on the body is a solid option for most stamblade builds. You can then tailor the second set to your build, play style, master weapons, etc.

I use 5 heavy 1 light 1 medium 1h and shield and 2h. 5 shackle 5 innate axiom 2 troll king. Weapon damage glyph on front bar and reduce weapon damage on back bar both infused traits. Reduce weapon damage is an unreal glyph. Not only does it reduce an opponents damage it also reduces their healing. This paired with defile from incap means huge healing debuffs.

All tri stat glyphs and triune jewelery. I use tri stats to up my mag pool which I use alot. I use the dark cloak morph with vigor and lingering health pots for healing and use forward momentum.

No gap closer. Thats my flex spot. Ill run efficient purge, cripple, shadow image or if Im fighting lots of sorcs I'll run defensive posture.
