Names of Guilds that claim keeps in Cyrodil

It has been a long standing practice to include a bit of banter in the claiming of keeps by creating a fake guild specifically for the purpose of being able to have the name 'AD are scrubs' or 'the purple zerg' attached to a keep and visible when anyone scrolls over the keep on the map. Today in Cyrodil though, DC were repeatedly naming keeps in a manner that went beyond banter into personal commentary of a sexual nature to do with a particular member of the AD faction. As there does not appear to be any way of checking who heads up these fake guilds, there is no simple way to report the players engaging in this kind of sexual harassment. When attempting to report it we only have the option of 'report player', which gives the pro forma response from ZOS that we might like to block the player so that we cannot receive messages from them. When it comes to a slur of this nature being attached to the map itself though, this is insufficient. Could we please have an option added to 'ask for help' that allows for reporting this kind of anonymous sexual harassment? It seems totally inappropriate that a player can be harassed by name, publicly, with no ability to report the behavior. It is also the height of cowardice.

If you got screenshots, I suggest attaching them to the standard emailed response in the reply.

I don’t condone harassment, but of all the issues in Cyrodiil ... this is what is selected for a forums discussion thread?

    Really?

Kind of inclined to agree. While what the OP is reporting doesn't sound like okay behavior, I'd much rather see mods or something keeping an eye on zone chat, for instance. Crude or cruel one liners about a player in keep names seems like a drop in the bucket compared to the kind of hate I see in zone on a anytime-I-look-there basis.

If people were held to similar rules about harassment/etc. in zone chat as they were in this forum, Cyrodiil queues would be a LOT shorter

Yes, really, as there is no where else to list it. As I noted, there is no way of reporting it through any formal channel, and this seems like something that they might actually be able to fix.

Or we could do both? Maybe have a no sexual harassment policy? AT present though, you can block people in zone chat. You cannot block keep names.

Fair point. And since my last post might not reflect it, I want to say; good on your for bringing this to light. This kind of toxicity is something I'd like to see less of in the ESO community. I hope this gets looked into.

The sad part is Zos will address this way before the other issues because it effects rp aspects of the game.

If you find the guild name offensive, report it. It's on ZOS to track down the player responsible and take appropriate action. It's entirely possible it's a dummy account with a dummy guild, but they should be able to force a name change on that guild, just like any other guild that gets reported for an offensive name.

I know that you can report players, but how do you report a guild name?

Yeah there really needs to be, at the very least, a formal method of reporting for this kind of thing

Presumably the current best course of action would be to screenshot the offending instances and contact Customer Service about it; ideally with as much detail about time and date of the occurrence as possible
tho there is no way for players to check who created the guilds, ZOS should be able to discern which players were at fault in running the guilds and claiming the Keeps and deal with the offending individuals

just going to tag @ZOS_JessicaFolsom for this thread alongside Gina

hopefully ZOS can get this sorted out for you, best wishes <3

Like when you enter a Keep, and all the NPCs have the name of the Guild that claimed that keep in brackets.

    My favorite is <Siege Merchant>

It's never once fooled me or given me difficulty in finding the guy, but I get a good chuckle ever single time I see it xD

If players are behaving inappropriately in-game, then please use the steps in this article to submit a report for us. From there, the proper team can investigate the matter. Provide as much information as you can in the "Description" field of your report. Whatever you can provide will help. If you are unable to report a specific player, you should be able to put "Unknown" in the Player Name field so that we can still look into this. For now, we are going to close this thread because we have had to remove some unnecessary and insulting comments, but please feel free to PM me or another moderator with any other questions or concerns. Thank you for your understanding.
