If it makes sense to nerf Major Expedition on Cripple why do potions still give permanent uptime

If they're going to nerf Major Expedition for anything it needed to be on potions more than anything else. They're reducing the Major Expedition on Cripple for Magblade from 8 seconds to 4 seconds but yet a potion still gives it for 47.6 seconds.

The 30% increased speed isn't used occasionally as just a means for running away, it's used as an always up buff for kiting your opponent and making it harder to land hits in a laggy Cyrodiil environment. So if it makes sense to cut Major Expedition to just 4 seconds on Cripple how does it make sense for Major Expedition to last 47.6 seconds, longer than the 45s cooldown, on a potion?

All i'm saying is how about some consistency ZOS.

Speed pots are available for everyone, regardless of their class or race. There is no issue of 'favoritism' with speed pots.

Cripple is a NB utility skill that both debuffs the target's 'mobility' while simultaneously buffing the user's mobility. [/i]

While some pvp'ers may have used the skill as a way to get a speed buff without having to use a speed pot (or as a way to help counter snares in pvp), the nerf to cripple will adversely impact NBs in pve and pvp.

Cripple is a debuff utility ... hence the name 'cripple'. There are two parts to the utility - the effect on the enemy target + the effect on the user. This skill is very much needed by NBs for it's offensive and defensive 'utility'. It helped make the class more unique and fun. I don't like the change to the skill ... especially as it was starting to become more relevant offensively in pve (especially in this 'fake tank' meta) ... needed to help a NB's hits actually land on their very mobile pve targets.

I suspect the nerf was triggered because of the way the skill was being used in pvp. Just another reason to have some sort of a separation for skills that are used in pvp vs. pve.

Sure there is, they're expensive to craft making them something that only a small percentage can afford to regularly use. A stack of Speed pots on console can easily cost a player 20-25K to craft if you buy the Regents. I'm for them providing better access to Major Expedition from skills on all classes and get away from this reliance on Potions most players can't afford to use.

That literally does not change the point that speed pots are available for all to use. They are a common factor. Cripple, which only nightblades can use, is not.

If you wanna perform at the highest level, penny up. ZOS is unlikely to nerf a major gold sink. Gold sinks need to exist for the sake of the game’s longevity. Besides, speed pots are essential for build diversity as they allow stamina builds to not be tethered to a bow. If anything, they need to make magicka speed pots.

The Expedition from Cripple is connected with the snare.
Sap an enemy’s agility and bolster your own
    .
The snare is getting reduced, that is why the speed boost is.

I get it that nobody likes it when their skill is nerfed, but when that happens there really isn't a need to call for ZOS to similarly nerf something available to everyone else. It sounds a lot like the kid from school who got caught doing something wrong by the teacher who then cries: "But what about everyone else, they were doing it too!"

Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.
