Personal chest/box of non-subbers fails to load and is invisible to other players [with pics]

While this is purely a cosmetic issue, the box is invisible, so it appears like people are waving awkwardly with their hands, as seen on the first image.

This is the crafting bag of ESO+ members that loads nicely:

Still seeing this quite often. Not sure if it's going to be fixed in the Murkmire.

I have noticed this as well. I have a hunch that the bag which appears is the one ESO+ members have (has the chalice on there and such), but nothing shows for non subscribers. I think I recall that at one time long ago the bag was just a plain brown sack basically, but this has been bugged for at least a year.

Interesting. I didn't know there was a different bag for e+ and non e+. Might explain why I only see those bags with a chalice? Hope devs will have some attention to this.

Still seeing this in murkmire pts though.

@Zorrin is basically correct. This has been an issue for a long time.

Players used to only have a brown backpack to rummage through, which would indicate they were idling in their inventory.

Then came the crafting bag for subscribers, which added the craft bag/chest to show a player idling in their craft bag.

I believe there was actually a period of time where both the brown backpack (inventory idle) and craft bag (craft bag idle) were rendering on players and depending on what you were doing in your inventory the appropriate bag would show.

At some point though, the craft bag became the default bag idle for subscribers, and the brown backpack for non subscribers just disappeared. They vanished over a year ago and it still aren't back.

I heard someone mention it could be an asset loading issue, but in any event it’s gotta be a very low priority for the devs to fix.

I do miss that brown backpack though.

Maybe it's the punishment of the devs for non-subscribers, like - THERE, you see, THAT person didn't subscribe and is hocus-pocusing with their bare hands. :D

Yes, confirmed, only non-sub bags are affected. That reminds me - I think I never even saw the regular, non-chalice bag in this game. :O

Yep, I took a break from the game a little after One Tamriel, and came back just before Horns of the Reach. When I left, the bags rendering wasn’t an issue. I’m therefore pretty sure this bug cropped up sometime during either Homestead or Morrowind and still persists to this day.

This was the biggest thread I found on the issue, dating back to June 2017 with replies as recent as a few months ago.

Honestly, after I kept seeing half-naked chicks playing with themselves in the Rawl'ka bank, I almost bumped that thread...

But like I said earlier, it's gotta be pretty low on the totem pole for ZOS.

I do hope ZOS will finally find time to make it available again. Quite annoying seeing many players "playing" with their hands. It shouldn't be big issue to fix, considering only the graphical asset is missing, with animations being intact.

It's been... months if not years since of this issue. :)

I know it's a trivial glitch... but also hope trivial enough to fix it.

Justice for non-subbers, at least they need a proper bag showing when they fiddle with their tiny inventory.
