I don't know what to do, i have a character that is a crafter and i have a big part of my skill points in the craftings tree, now the problem is that i need a lot more of skill points to get passives and morphs. What's the best way to get champion points? my idea is to collect all skyshards + story line quests, but is going to take me forever... is there any other way?????

There's no way around it: if you want your crafter to max all crafts and also be a character you play normally it is indeed a very long grind to get all the skill points you need.

It's why most of us just have a crafter that just crafts and we play the game with other alts.

My main is also my crafter, and with Summerset she has to invest in no less than 7 full crafting skill lines, plus I use her both as a DD and a tank and in PvP, so she has to be proficient in destro staves, resto staves, 1h&shield, heavy armor, light armor, and I also use her for stealing and looting, so she needs a few points in medium armor.

As well as all 3 class skill lines, mage guild, Psijic guild, Thief guild, DB guild, Alliance skill lines, legerdemain and race passives.

And I tell you IT IS POSSIBLE. And if I can do that, then you can certainly do half of that as well.

Sure it requires getting every single skill point in the game, right now I just miss about half the AVA ones, but with Midyear Mayhem I expect to collect a handful more skill points, and next DLC we get 2 more, 1 for every new dungeon.

So yeah, it's a bit hard for me to take skill point grievances that seriously, when I look at my own setup and how I manage to do all of that regardless.

PvP the first 8-10 are quick (13 points?)
    Then skyshards, including Cyrodil
Public Dungeons group event boss each give 1 skill point
Dungeon mission first run gives a skill point

If you are on PC get the USPF addon to see which you need to do

Do the main quest (prophet questline). Relatively short and there's a skillpoint for every single quest.

Secondly I would complete all undaunted dungeons (in normal both mode I and II) and public dungeons. Again these quests don't take long, especially with a good group and give you 1 skillpoint each.

Another option is doing some BGs or pvp. You rank up very quickly at first. The initial 4 skillpoints or so are basically for free.

This is a bit more time consuming but still worthwhile and possibly more entertaining: Do your faction questline and Caldwell's silver & gold along with all the dlc questlines. You won't be rewarded with a skillpoint for every quest, but you still get one once you finish of an arc of the storyline.

Lastly there is skyshard hunting. With a maxed out horse and a lot of wayshrines discovered this is hands down the fastest way to get skillpoints. However on a slow horse and in unexplored zones it becomes relatively painful.

My advice is to alternate between different techniques so you don't get burnt out. Ideally you want to do all of this to max out your skillpoints at some point. ;)

Why they don't put skill points in the crown store....

In my opinion, it worth grinding to get all of the skill points to allow your main to be both a crafter and DD, or tank, or healer, etc. it is just so much easier to me not to need to be able to do everything I want to on my favorite toon. It is a grind though - no way around that. Just have to do what the posters above outlined so well.

My main is also my crafter, I only have 1 toon. I've collected a ton of skill points (I'm a warlord in PvP) but still don't have enough to max out what I want.

So what I do is decide what skills I can live without and go from there. Currently I'm sacrificing blacksmithing and jewelry crafting (however I'm leveling it)...

Long story short, decide what you can live without and go from there. A lot of times when I respec my skill points I find I have a lot left over because I'm pretty comfortable with the skills I'm using, so there a lot of them I don't need. Whatever is left over, I put into crafting and start with the crafting skills that are most important to me, so I go with light/med armor, wood, food/drink, enchanting and alchemy. Those crafting trees are all important to my magsorc.

I hate sky shard hunting, so I learn to live without.

But the poster above pretty much outlines all the good ways to collect skill points, if you don't like my "learn to live without" approach..heh
