Looking for Mag Warden PvP ideas

Finally about to hit level 50/160 cp and I want to know what gear I should be farming for BGs/Cyrodiil.

For skills, I was thinking something along the lines of:

Front: Northern Storm, Winter's Revenge, Shimmering Shield, Degeneration, Elemental Weapon, and not set on my 5th skill. Maybe Time Freeze or Wall of Elements
Back: Ice Comet, Magelight, Elemental Ring, Blue Betty, Bird of Prey, Deep Fissure

Basically, the idea behind the skill build is to Throw out some AOE damage/cc with my front bar, do a ton of single target damage with light attacks via elemental weapon/Might of the guild while healing from Degeneration procs. Then drop a massive Ice Comet on large groups with destruction/warden/mage guild passive damage and blue better/bird of prey active buffs.

I was thinking maybe run a Frost Staff up front with Winterborn, but I'm not 100% set on this. Would like a lightning staff on the back for the extra aoe damage for comet.

I use old faithful shackle x5, domi x1 (and another max mag monster) necro x5.

Inferno/resto

Bar 1-Fissure, cliff racer, infection, force pulse, harness magicka, northern storm/permafrost/shooting star

Bar 2 -flex/leeching vines, ice fortress, blue betty, healing ward, enchanted growth, thicket

Plenty tanky with lots of heals. When you place fletcher and line up fissure, cliff racer and force pulse its plenty bursty. Especialy combined with star or storm.

Checkmath

Winterborn is a good set, but only paired with frost blockade AND winters revenge. Typical build is shackle and necropotency, but also other sets like lich surely work great together with a master or asylum staff.

I say lightning staff bc flame reach will pop them out of range of skalks...you need the stun.

Does the Necro set work with the Netch / when the netch is active but not on the current bar?

netch counts as pet yes, thats why necro is very famous on magdens.

Overwhelming Surge is another set you should look into. Very underrated set

Makes me pretty sad tbh. Not much on the warden makes it unique anymore. None of the animal companion damage abilities do anything great. Winter's revenge is basically a weakened combo of elemental blockade + elemental ring.

Some of the healing stuff is kinda cool, but that's not why I rolled a warden.

Since MagDen is missing a CC, what about pairing with “Assassin’s Guile” and escapist’s poison (the one that gives you immunity to cc and immobilizes opponent) for near 100% uptime?

However, you should give players a few disclaimers before they try these out:

First of all, Cyrodiil buffs aren't always present for players (including yourself). Your build discussion should start unbuffed and without Cyrodiil buffs ... so that players can match their base stats up to yours.

Second, the high damage is at the expense of base resistances. Especially physical & crit resist.

I can see you buffing those up in the skill discussion. However, the lack of defense is exhibited in your gameplay style ... which is very dependent on line of sight, sneak, and mist form.

It will take players a little bit of time to adapt to a rotation that keeps everything buffed yet still be able to line of sight.

But, it's worth trying out.

I put together that skill build and started working on the gear. Still not quite 160cp though, so trying to grind that out first.

Already working a lot better in bgs than my other builds (I know it's not really a bg build, but it's an easy place to start testing). Although, without the right gear I'm still really squishy, so I'm more of a support mage at the moment, but the damage output isn't terrible. If I get stunned, I'm instadead tho.

You dont need Degeneration if you are using blue Betty.

I'd recommend you take off fetcher infection as it usually just gets purged and doesn't offer a lot since magden just relies on insta burst, and replace it with Shimmering Shield. It's an AMAZING defense slot that also gives major heroism and I always use it
