I didn't read that there was a difference between PvP or PvE combat mechanics in the sub category title.

The only boss I know of that has a sheild is sellitrix. And most people don't understand the machanic on that fight, you have to keep her in the water to keep the damage shield off. But that is neither here nor there when it comes to axes vs shields in pve, the vast majority of mobs, like 99% will not have them so what does it matter.1 -

Jeezye✭✭✭✭✭The only reliable way I found to proc ravager reliabily on a stamsorc is by running DW. Twinslashes, Tornado, Blade cloak and heavy attacks all have multiple damage instances that allow a good uptime.
This however can be applied to all classes, not just exclusively stamsorc1 -

I use Ravager on my stamsorc. My average uptime is about 65-70% in raid. You can increase uptime by running Deadly Cloak (the DoT procs Ravager) but that's only reasonable in a few fights. What I do is end my DW rotation with a light attack, so LA->Crushing Weapon->LA->swap->Endless Hail. That gives one extra chance to proc Ravager and Berserker.
Any uptime above ~63.5% and Ravager is always better than Veiled Heritance (and in reality, you only need 58-60% since Veiled Heritance uptime won't be 100%), plus the resistance bonus on Veiled Heritance is utterly useless while the health bonus on Ravager allows you to run 7 medium and use Artaeum Takeaway/Dubious.Edited by LiquidPony on August 17, 2018 7:30PM1 -

✭If running relequen you can get decent uptime on Ravager since it procs it. Hurricance doesn't tho so it's single target DoT's, spammable & light attacks.
Also the most notable one for me is 1st boss vMoL
Axe bleeds will be the same both with and without shield since bleeds ignore resistances, but shields have to resistance. Only difference is you can't crit against shields. Shields render daggers and mace's useless while they're up for that reason. @Sparr0w so I get the notification
