Please ZOS don't host any more events

Dear ZOS.

Clearly, your servers can't handle any events like free ESO + or anything else. Please don't host them anymore.

EDIT: Adding a little of more information
Most of issues - that usually happen - are happen way more often since Steam Summer sale: the regular infinite loadings screen, random, dc's unstable ping etc. Not only with me but with several other guildies.

I mostly play trials btw.

Is this a particular platform? I haven't noticed a difference on PC/NA myself. (Which is to say that performance isn't all that great, but I haven't noticed it get worse with ESO+)

PC/NA has been pretty awful regardless. They just aren't getting themselves together enough to make any significant improvements to the servers' performance.

Honestly I saw no difference in performance before or during the event. Now if because of the event there are more people logging in and that is causing a drop in your performance, then a partial reason can also be your hardware along with the server.

No. I love events. Events are what I live for. Especially around Halloween

Ive had no problems on pc/na so far. Only bad performance is vivec but that is the most populated pvp campaign

Yeah, it feels like it's not events that's the problem, it's what content you prefer. I've been doing questing/overland/delves, PC/NA. Haven't seen any performance problems. Meanwhile, people doing pvp in Cyro have all sorts of problems regardless of an event or not.

(of course, particular events can have an effect - Mayhem will make it worse because more people will go into pvp, aggravating the Cyro issues. ESO+.... eh, people using the free trial are decorating their houses, farming mats into their craft bags, and doing quest & dungeon DLC they don't own. Not a 'crush the servers' situation.)

Apart from the invisible walls, I haven't noticed any problems during the event.

The difference in experiences just in this thread shows that it isn’t the Zeni servers.

The problem for some people originates elsewhere, and those people are flinging poo at Zeni in blind rage. Zeni appropriately ignores them.

You forget about every midyear event ever held in ESO?. The servers melt and everyone i play with has issues.

There are even massive issues now with textures disappearing and people exploiting them into keeps, but hey, must be my computer making the textures disappear! Definitely not server side trollololol


Personally i cannot wait for midyear mayhem, just to soak up and laugh at how bad performance is for a 2018 MMO.

I'm a little surprised there wasn't a rollback patch before the ESO+ free trial... But I guess they decided to push ahead since the event is just targeted at existing players who are already dealing with the bugs. Still, it's not the best way to show off the game when some major bugs are running rampant.

If you want players to step up to a subscription, show them a game that's clearly worth the money. The current state is more like a backhanded plea for more support to fix the bugs.

I love ESO and had fun this weekend just tweaking my build... But the bugs have been the worst I've seen in a while.

interesting thing I have noticed while spending more time with my side account. same computer, same internet connection, obviously. latency is much MUCH higher (while framerate is somehow lower) when playing steam copy vs my main account that is directly through ESO. my steam copy also tends to crash more then regular copy of the game.

so... could be steam related issues?

I believe I saw Gina state that they are working on it. what it actualy means and if/when we get any improvements is anyone's guess. but... all i'm saying is for me the issues seem to be mainly with steam copy of the game.

although... disappearing textures seem to be happening for both copies.

ZOS does have a tendency to have events that highlight problems with the game and servers. They famously had the entire megaserver going to get cake for their first Anniversary event, and that did not end well.

This event (Free Trial) has been nothing but smooth for me, so I don't get the source of the complaint.

Now, when Midyear Mayhem starts... that will be a glorious event filled with loading screens, disconnections, slide shows, and the whole enchilada. I look forward to much popcorn.

Events tend to be a bit of an problem if they overload some services like the random dungeon event overloaded dungeon finder.
PvP event will obviously create huge PvP queues but that can be negated with more campaigns, performance should not be worse than pop locked campaigns is.

ZOS needs to keep hosting events and doing marketing. This should not stop for any reason.

Yeah, I didn't notice any performance issues. I experience the walls disappearing in one dungeon, but that was happening before the event.

I am on PC/NA.

The one downside of the free eso+ trial periods is getting thrown into DLC dungeon random vet pug groups with first timers. That rarely ends well, though I got lucky as a replacement tank for vet Scalecaller last night..
