Physical penetration

As a stamblade, am I still aiming for that 18k physical penetration? I've been trying to do the math, and I can't seem to find any precise up to date information. For instance if I follow Alcast's build my penetration is far from cap, including penetration from group buff, or am I missing something? Is it just not as important as other stats anymore?

The Lover (w/7 Legendary Divines) = 4196
Major Fracture = 5280
Minor Fracture (Power of the Light or Sunderflame) = 1320
Alkosh = 3010
Torug's Infused Crusher = 2740

That's 16546 armor penetrated, which leaves 1654 armor which is covered by about 18 points in Piercing. However, to cover downtime in Alkosh and Minor Fracture a lot of people recommend ~30 or so points in Piercing, maybe more depending on your group.

Of course outside of optimized Trials you may not have all of those extra sources of armor debuffs, so there it may make sense to introduce a pen set (maybe even just Kra'gh) or bump the Piercing CP.

They nerfed the amount of penetration you can get a while ago. Also, dont know the optimal amount to have right now. 18K resist was what Trial Bosses had or have so that was why there was a goal set to that amount.

Also if this is for PVP, Penetration does not help against shields.
