Who here has successfully done a MagWarden Tank w/Frost Staff?

What is your build, skills, tips and tricks? I just may make my Warden into a Tank but it has to be Magic cause my roster is nothing but Stam characters.

My Warden has S&B and Ice staff bars.

I actually like having the free ranged taunt, but wish it were faster/less clunky to use.

    My Ice staff bar is:
Bone Shield, Ice Fortress, Deceptive Predator, and two fill slots, usually Ele Drain because I usually run dungeons with 3 DPS, often mag, with Warhorn for ult.

    My S&B bar is:
Leeching VInes, Pierce Armor, Polar Wind/ Absorb Magic, Heroic Slash and Bull Netch with either Enchanted Forest or Warhorn as needed.

Honestly I kinda want to switch Bull Netch over to Blue Betty because I can heavy attack with S&B faster than ice staff. Fill slots are Shimmering Shield, Green Lotus, Impaling Shards or Frozen Device, as the situation deems necessary.
I've never unlocked Sleet Storm, but I guess it can be used if you and your group don't need healing, but mitigation.

For my gear, I swear Plague Doctor jewellery and chest and feet, with the rest being Torug's, with infused weapons. Monster sets are either 1p Chokethorn/Shadowrend for the extra mag regen, Lord Warden, either with 1p or both pieces if I need higher resistances, infused on all big pieces sturdy on small. Health enchants on infused, stam and mag on the sturdy pieces, one mag regen enchant and two shield play enchants for jewellery.

Maybe I'm also reading this wrong and you meant like a Magicka Warden DPS/tank hybrid type...

Can you be more specific on the type of content, @ArchMikem?

As @Froil pointed out, it's difficult to dispense advice ... because the build has a moving target based on the role (main tank, off-tank, or support) and content type.

If you want some diversity go for it!

I've been having a great time leveling up mine (@lvl36 right now), and I find it far more engaging than my DK and Templar Tanks, my NB is still pretty fun though.

I suggest going full on Magicka and Health (almost like DPS/Tank hybrid).
    My primary goal is:
    Ideal thematic build;
    2x Iceheart LA
    Ebon Chest, Legs and Jewelry
Magicka Furnace Belt, gloves, boots and Ice Staves

    Max Resistances, great Warhorn Uptime for more "serious" groups;
    2x Blood Spawn LA
Fortified Brass= HA Chest, MA Legs, LA rest
    Shalks Jewelry and Ice Staves

Both setups give 30k health and 30k Magicka.

Through all my leveling (using 5 piece Julianos, 4 piece Torugs) I have been fine without the undaunted taunt even on my bar, but for real hard lvl content it will be a must for times you cant use the HA.
Harness Magicka is your friend; Helps with lower resistances (unless you go the Fortified Brass route).
Northern Storm is the perfect front bar Ulti, with Destro Ulti, Ice comet or Warhorn on the back for what you need (I like Destro so I don't need ability on that bar).
Blue Betty is a must and I often run with Sub Assault (though its kinda a flex spot).
Leeching Vines is great (when it applies to you :D).
Everything in Winter's Embrace is good (I don't use Frozen Gate, as control is really easy with frost).
Destro Blockade is Key! Meanwhile Weakness to Elements and Force Shock are great if needed/want a little more DPS (especially Solo)

Between Blockade and Gripping Shards, you have fantastic control. Ranged taunts Galore. Strong Shields to shrug off and even benefit from ranged attackers.

Hope that helps and is inline with what you wanted.

Not warden but magblade. Reapers mark replaces your puncture in terms of debuffs, siphoning attacks gives magicka back while blocking.
Ice staff guarantees a high crusher and weakening uptime.
I ran it with torugs and desert rose for some more magicka returns while blocking.

I've yet to do many vTrials on my Warden Tank (only vSO and vHRC) but I've cleared most dungeons with him (Fang Lair and Bloodroot only exceptions) and it works just fine. I go 1h+S and Ice Staff.

    5 pc Ebon (Chest+Legs, Jewelry)
5 pc Kagrenac's Hope (Feet, Belt, Gloves, Weapons)
    2 pc Ice Heart

Infused Big Pieces, Sturdy Small piece with full Prismatic Enchantments. Infused Neck with Magic Regen, Healthy Rings with Shield Play Enchants but I plan on changing to 2 Triune Rings once I finish my research on them and changing some Prismatic Enchantments to Health since it should result in more total resources with the same health total, if my math checks out anyways; I'll have to get back to you on this part.
Medium Gloves, Light belt and Weapons are Infused with Crushers.
I switch out Kags for Torags in Trials.

    1h+Shield Bar
    Pierce Armor
    Heroic Slash
    Bull Netch
    Ice Fortress
    Flex Spot
    Warhorn

    Ice Staff Bar
Inner Fire/Crushing Shock (Depending on content and how often I need a Range Taunt)
    WoE
    Gripping Shards
    Flex Spot
    Flex Spot
    Permafrost/Trees

Flex Skills are usually Leeching Vines, Frozen Device, Arctic Blast, Lotus Blossom or Shimmering Shield but I have slotted Deceptive Predator, Sub Assault, Budding Seeds, Bone Shield and Fungal Growth periodically, depending on party or my own needs.

Only issues I tend to have is with maintaining my Magic if I have to slot more healing abilities due to poor DPS with bad survivability but that's really my only issue.
