I can't even make it to the character screen and I get "ESO has stopped working"

I just got this computer which is running windows 10 with i7 8700K (6-Core/12-Thread, 12MB Cache, up to 4.7GHz a GTX 1080ti and 32GB Dual Channel HyperX™ DDR4 XMP at 2933MHz
It has a fresh download of ESO and all fresh updated drivers. I have tried changes graphic setting and everything else I can think of or read about but nothing helps.

Previously was using a computer running windows 10 with i7 6700 3.4GHz and a GTX 960 and never had any issues

I have read where a lot of people are having this problem but I am not a real techy person and now I am at a loss of what to do.

Your ticket #180620-000630 has been successfully started. While you wait for customer support, there are two troubleshooting steps that may help with your game crash. First, check your DPI settings on your laptop. Instructions on managing issues with high-DPI displays can be found here. Second, please ensure that you have the game set up to run in a high-performance profile. Steps for doing so can be found here.

    Hi BillE,

    Thank you for the reply.
    Not on a laptop.
I will check out the DPI settings and already did the second step before I submitted the ticket.

    @ZOS_BillE

Making changes to DPI settings had no effect.
Every time I logged in I received the "eso has stopped working" within a couple of minutes of logging in.
I was able to check my mail the first time that was cool.
The second time I was able to sell some items to a vendor...getting some extra gold is always cool.
Maybe soon I will be able to complete a daily or two ye think?

Got my crafting dailies done a little while ago then as I made my way to the wayshrine in VVardenfell I was once again attacked and slaughtered by the "eso has stopped working"

I think we need to all band together and start a search and destroy mission against this infamous killer of relaxation and enjoyment. >:)

Yeh I can't complete my crafting dailies and get back to hand them in as the game consistently crashes. I've actually stopped playing because of this.

Got home from work today and in my email inbox is a message from Bethesda Customer Support. YAY

Hmmm the first suggestion "In a case like this, we ask that you try to repair your game files." I have already done that several times so I have moved on to the second suggestion.
"1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online.
    2. Look for the Depot folder and move it to the desktop. You can drag and drop the folder for ease.
    3. Reopen the launcher and run the repair again."

Probably should add a step 2.5 "wait for download"
Once the download is complete I will test it out and see what happens.

While waiting I will go over few other things I have tried to do to fix this issue.
I have tried many many different graphics setting from in the game and from the NVidia control panel but none of that helped.
I have not only disabled but removed all the addons I had and that did not help.
I have checked and rechecked to make sure all my drivers are up to date and even reinstalled my graphics driver just to be doing. That did not help.
Performed endless searches online for anything that would help. Yeah, there was nothing I found that I had not already tried.

Last night I contacted Alienware customer support for any ideas. They had me run hardware diagnostics on the computer (a short test that took like 10 min) and everything checked fine. After getting off the phone with them I decided to run the complete diagnostics of which when started the timer showed that it would take seven and a half hours so I started it and went to bed. I got up this morning and checked it before going to work. Every test passed and everything was good (damn well better have been good since it is a brand new computer).

This brings us to now waiting to see if suggestion #2 from Bethesda Customer Support will work.

After accomplishing the following as Bethesda Customer support suggested.
"1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online.
    2. Look for the Depot folder and move it to the desktop. You can drag and drop the folder for ease.
    3. Reopen the launcher and run the repair again."
I still think they should add a step 2.5 "wait for download"

I have so far, after testing for a few hours yesterday and today, had no issues with playing the game. I have not seen the big bad "eso has stopped working" monster. I think we have successfully killed it.
