Funny... "why can't I sell things at the same exact prices all the time?!?" Really?!? You need to be taught how price and demand works?

First, many people aren't buying because they're too busy with new content and/or working on their jewelry skill line leveling. Second, people tend to adjust their sale price so as to undercut the last sold for price, driving prices continually downward until a lack of sales of a certain item causes the price to reset and people to start selling higher again- starting the cycle for an item over again. I have seen the price of Jewelry mats plummet by hundreds of dollars each day as players continuously try to undercut other players because they want to sell NOW... which I can understand... yet it also harms the market stability. If all players kept the pricing the same and stopped undercutting each other, things would sell at higher amounts because those in the market for an item would have no choice... but by undercutting each other, we drive prices down far too steeply.

Also, @Cpt_Teemo What are you talking about with "cross-platform and stealing 2/3 of PC population"? You've said this multiple times but never explained what you mean? As far as I know, there is NO 'cross-platform' anything in ESO.

What is bad for sellers is great for buyers.
In game economics is still economics. It goes up and down...that's why terms like "buyers markets" or "sellers markets" exsist.
OP asks for a return to normal...but fluctuations in market prices are the norm in economics.
If you're not fixing your prices to match the market, you're losing gold. If your strategy is holding out until prices rise, you might find the new pricing will drop futher, or you suddenly flooding the market at a higher price will actully lower prices in the future, because of supply and demand.
There is no "normal" in any kind of economics. You adjust to current prices or you run the risk of losing gold.

    Well, it's simple really.

When people charge ridiculous prices I decide to farm stuff for myself or will contact those who are willing to charge reasonable prices and purchase it outside the Trade Vendors.

I think its not the only reason. A lot of people probaly quit this game when they heared that new ES is coming out. (wich was probaly only reason they played that)

And what will they be doing in the 3+ years until ES6? Many probably will cut down on ESO play time once ES6 comes out eventually, but that news was basically saying "yeah, we'd like to do that at some point in the future". No one quit now because of that.

That’s not very likely. Are you really thinking that “a lot” of people who previously played ESO suddenly walked away because there will be a new TES game in a few years? Because it is seriously years away. Years.

I never shop the Rawl markets due to their exorbitant prices.

As far as selling goes, the motif and furniture recipe prices still haven't rebounded from the anniversary event from my perspective. Not sure if they ever will, but that's fine since I both buy and sell those items.

ps4/na... been selling out of the capital cities and rawl'kha for years...

for a while now, my two primary traders are atin in wayrest and ronuril in rawl'kha...

from my observation - rawl'kha doesn't see the same foot traffic it once did...

It's always interesting to see traders complaining about trends in the market that they always claim can only happen under an auction house system  !

No one with any sense has claimed this. OMG, lol, everything loses value after the market is saturated with it in any trading system. That is plain pure and simple logic.

OP just has not rolled with the changes which is why he is not selling much.
    Really, idk

Summer is always very slow sales I believe for any mmo, but the thing I did not agree with is that they went cross console and took 2/3rd's of the pc population away

I get so tired of hearing that "console stole pc players". Perhaps, PC stole console players by not launching on console originally. Ever think of that? If people left PC to come to console then they did it because it was their preferred platform to play on; nothing more, nothing less. Console didn't take anything away from PC. Keep your PC master race mentality to yourself please.

On-topic, I haven't seen any real decline in sales, but I don't really sell mats. I usually sell motifs and gear, and since Summerset, jewelry. I think everyone is just out farming jewelry nodes, and picking up other mats at the same time.

You know, there is a simple recipe against it: Don't sell at prices you consider too cheap, don't alway undercut eaxh other and kick members from the top trading guilds who constantly undercut their own fellows.

This is the sign of a bad "top trading guild". I'll tell you right now, and I know many people feel the same on this, if people in the trading guilds I am in have wax for 4.5k each and I am wanting to unload some of mine at 4k each (which will guarantee their sale) then no guild is going to tell me not to. Kick me out, and do me a favor. I'll sit in the zone that trader is and just offload my stash for free via zone chat. Yet another reason why the trading guild/kiosk system is cancer to this game and it's economy.
