Sorcerer Overload Light attacks are broken in PVP.

In several PVP encounters, whether it be BGs or Cyrodiil, I have witnessed entire group compositions based around Overload sorcs with a heal/tank using "Guard" on them while they one shot most people.

I doubt this was intended and is very overpowered in PVP currently.

How do other players feel about how Overload is working after the Summerset balance to light attacks?

There are several threads already in the specific subforum.

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/416293/the-1-gcd-sorc-gank-builds-are-extremely-overperforming/p1

Outside the mentioned ganking build and in Battlegrounds it’s not that much of an issue. That said, it‘s also discussed on the Sorc Class Representatives Discord. It’s known and will get brought up. If ZOS changes it, who knows.

I just wished werewolfs have gotten the same buff/treatment to their light attacks instead of the nerf they got......

But so far I haven´t had too much issues with overload sorcs. Sure they hit hard, not denying that, but haven´t died to a gank combo so far.
I´ve much more issues with rune-cage. Rune cage is overperforming more than overload light attacks...

Overload is getting so much hate, I am nervous to see how they want to fix it. I hope, they just go with a straight damage nerf instead of changing much about the ults functionality. Needless to say, I don't care about its damage component.

The best solution would be to flag it as a spell and not as a light attack. That would be a 60% damage nerf, because they can no longer use elegance and magelight and Overload is very weak without a dedicated build for it.

Yikes. That would completely ruin the ultimate. Hope they go with just a damage nerf. I've been waiting to shake the dust off this ability :)

It IS flagged as a spell projectile as well as a light attack. It can be reflected by Bolstering Defense sword and shield skill.

Long may the day of Spellswords remain in their crusade against Overload.

So nerf overload into irrelevance to support a niche PvP playstyle and activity...

I’ve played around with all five classes and sorcs are ahead in every role (except healing maybe, if they’re too dumb to keep their matriarch up) by a mile. I’ll be maining my sorc (tank) for SS.

I’m not ready to cry nerf, but the other four classes need serious balancing.

I don't think a damage nerf is necessary, but if they do want to nerf it, I hope they just overhaul it completely.

I don't care at all about having a third weapon bar. What I want is an ultimate that I can use to kill people! You know... like Incap or Leap.

The transition time to the overload bar is terrible and will get you killed in a 1vX situation. They should just make it so that clicking on the ultimate key releases the light attack, while holding the ultimate key down causes the heavy attack. This would be very simple and much more useful as a weapon than what we have now.

Well if it was for me, Overload needs no nerf at all. But since people seem to be bothered so much, it appear a nerf is inevitable.

Do elegant swords still increase overload damage like they did back in the day? Might be time to dust off my 2 sharpened elegant swords that cost me a mil each back than haha miss that time in the game

It does not. Overload is not affected by weapon passives.

I fell like this ultimate is finnaly useful, When sorc complain about sload stacking or Shield breaker, the only answers they got are "Change your build bro " or " L2P ", well that's what they did, they don't bother using shields or sustain sets anymore.

It's hard to land an overload light attack and half the time when I try light attacking in overload mode, it does a heavy attack. It's clunky to use imo.

Well, I do care about the third bar. And a lot of other people do as well. Instead of gimping the class, how about smoothing the transition in and out the third Bar?

Yes, the third bar is what makes OL an especially unique ultimate. It adds an additional dimension of fun and versatility. It's much more sensible to have the transition fixed than homogenizing the whole thing.

Ganking as a sorc is fun for like five minutes, (I'm not even built for it, quite the opposite) then I keep getting the feeling I'm more useful elsewhere.
