Is permablocking still an issue?

I've had conversations with people saying it is still quite a lot while I personally never had one that could either actually perma block or do damage. So i would like to know your opinion.

Not an issue in BGs. The lower healing makes it hard for a permablocker to have the stats to outheal even blocked abilities. Permablockers just die slower.

For now not so much as in the past, specifically because its a CP-related issue and the prevelance of no-CP camps and BGs have mitigated the playstyle in the 'competitive' formats & counters have been added. There are still some builds its ridiculous on in CP formats but to a lower extent; if it frustrates you still I'd recommend moving your PvP activities to no-CP where right-click hero builds are renderedmortal.

in some casescan sy yes, its still problem but not like long time ago, its jsut close to permlocking
now old permblockers are jsut forced to use more often heavy attacks and they se very often ultimate form s&b for this

Permablocking and permablocking while being able to have heavy burst are different. It's certainly been addressed in bgs.

...and that is from Dragon Bones apparently, before things like Infused jewelry block cost reduction etc.

I don't know if most people really realize how much defensive mechanics overperform in this game when you build your character properly.

While the character in that video is an extreme example (likely pretty low dmg etc), it's easy to build a character that has good damage and never runs out of stamina in smaller fights like 1v1, 1v2, 1v3 etc.

and for this still going permblocking we can be thankful to ZOS for their very balanced weapon ults
just if not eye of lame on pvp...less stupidly op zerg trains
just s&b ulti > you can still permblocking! you can do few HA for restore stamina while blocking to perm blocking again!

remove shield ulti and perm block is going away...again? or finally?

The main issue with permablocking, at least in BGs, is when it's a healer paired up with high burst damage classes (especially if Guard is in the mix as well). If you're not also in a premade group, good luck actually landing a kill.

I have no issue with tanks that permablock. If they're unable to kill anyone then it's ok. Problem are builds that are able to deal very decent dmg comparable to other DD builds but they can block lot of damage in the meantime.

Did you see anyone using Fear in this? I did not. Plenty of Shulks/Permaforst and other stuns but no one feared this guy.

As someone who plays on PS4/NA, every time I've run across a tank build similar to this, and they're inside a keep trying to take it-- he's gotten feared and typically on the second fear he's well on his way to being dead. Even after Summerset dropped.

Exactly. People who think permablockers are a problem have no idea how to CC. The only classes that struggle with permablockers are those who don't have access to CC's that go through block, but permablocking in 1v1's is not the same as permablocking against a zerg with all classes present... no excuse to let a permablocker keep his stam.

So the only problem with permablockers is when you are against a team of healing, damage, and tanks? That doesn't sound like a permablocking problem but rather just difficulties fighting against a tough, well organized team.

Not at all. Block as a defense on an offensive character is extremely weak. Due to how quickly it can be overwhelmed and how much it gimps you in an 1vX scenario, stopping normal stam, snaring, stopping channels/HA, stopping LA weaving. All of which are quite important, mobility especially. You also have to build into it heavily vs something like shields which rides the same stat pool as damage.

Plenty of decent soft counters like dots, hard CCs, unblockables burst skills, and AoEs. And a few OP ones like sloads/bleeds but eh.

Yeah, fulltank builds exist, but they deal little damage as a result.

If most DKs, with the most (but pretty bad in general) synergy with block, have switched to resto (or 2h like me lmao) then its kinda obvious what state it is in as a "normal" def.

Let me introduce you to the Barkskin set...it reduces cc by 50% and heals you when you get cc'ed...every 5 seconds...

Barskin works on snares and immobilizes only not on hard CC abilities. Also using Forward Momentum ability kinda takes away part of usefulness of Barskin same as permablock takes away usefulness of stamina recovery bonus.

Inb4 some Stamblades flock in and say Stamblades cannot kill tanks well but Sorc can.

And no. Permablock is not really a problem. Gotta have some sort of counter to skyrocket damages in a way.
