Would you prefer the jewellery crafting we have now, or none at all?

I just wanted to take this clip from another thread I posted in, because no one responded, they just decided to keep their bickering....

"People need to just play the game. If they want to make their gear gold... They can earn gold and buy mats, they can farm material, they can use surveys dropped from writs. Yes it may(Hard may) take a long time, but the alternative is just... What? Wait for the 150k-250k jewellery to show up at the gold vendor? How long might that take? How much cheaper is it? It gives people a slow, but reliable way to work towards a goal. "

I like attainable goals, even if they are time consuming. Playing "guess when my rings will pop up in cyrodiil" does not give me a clear goal to work towards.

So, I ask you simply. The way we have now, or the way we had before?

Don't know what all the fuss is about.

This is an MMO not a 30 hour single player game that some people seem to think it is or want it to be.

Sure its a bit of a grind at times but its a challenge and the rewards are more than worth the time and effort.

I can already upgrade my blue Werewolf Hide jewelery for an alt to purple (at least one piece) after a week, so it's surely better than nothing (and better than spending 20k for the purple pieces or farming Glenumbra dolmen for several hours). It does leave a lot to be desired though. Time will tell how useful it will be.

    A hit piece?

I'm just trying to gauge if this... Discontent over the jewellery crafting "grind" (including high resource cost for upgrade) is about it's actually functionality.

I would love a revamp on the current professions as well regarding upgrading...that would also help pump up the prices on mats a bit...or I have a better idea! a new upgrading rank that you need the current upgrade mats to make 1 of those mats so say idk 10 wax to make the new 1 and u need 16 of the newest one...right now current professions are kinda sent to oblivion... :(

Silly question, like asking someone if they would rather eat a piece of mouldy bread or starve. :|

Of course the current system is better than none at all, but it is still very very bad.

wear two crafted sets still not a meta and never be. Upgrade to gold is expensive and pointless. There are good things too: new awesome traits, retraiting, new skill line, new achievements, you can make money selling jewerly materials or stuff to deconstruct.

I felt like they could have just tacked it a long with the armor and it would be easier, though less thought-out and involved. But I guess they decided we weren't working hard enough anymore that they need us to go out and get more skyshards etc...

At current pricing, I think you'd be better off financially buying the purple pieces and selling the zircon plating.

I can finally complete several PvP builds of mine which consists two crafted sets with full 5 piece bonuses and that's something I always wanted to do. Even when it costs me a bit more to complete, so what? It's goal to work for.

I will address your question directly with the same response I gave to others that posted the same thing in the PTS Jewelry feedback thread. I am OK with upgrading jewelry to gold being very time consuming, but why should upgrading to green, blue or purple be so time consuming? For other crafts I could create items as I leveled that were green or blue without too much trouble. Over time I built up enough mats to craft gold gear. I think making even the lower tier upgrade mats and traits so hard to obtain will turn people off the system. Make at least the green and blue upgrades easier, though I feel purple should be easier as well.

I have no issue with the research times or the availability of nodes once they improved them during PTS.

I'm cool with it. Is it a big time burn yes, but only.if you look at it that way. What's the point if we all had it all day 1.

Grinding makes everything dull. From XP to gold, to skyshards to lore books..playing.the game as intended is way more enjoyable. However people seem to want to rush everything

And this is hard to rush thus they get whiney..

That's fair. The way it is, I can definitely see jewel crafting being completely useless at low levels. It's definitely geared towards end game... It's probably be reasonable to have purple the same to 1/2 of what it is now, blue 1/4, green 1/8 ish.

I wont vote as I dont have summerset so at all jewell craft doesnt exist for me
as I dont have this I will be more fot not have this
but at all its not that big deal with just have possibility of this which can help to your build
now maybe its expensive..but like everything new so if you dont have much money its good to ignore this at start and sell everything from jewell and wait some time (month or months) and prices will drop sudennyl very low when most endgame player who have gold will level it to max, research everything etc
then will come time for poorer players ;) who now can make money on this now

Would rather have what we have now than nothing. It's just another layer like transmutation.

Hope they will adjust drop rate for mats over time. Right now the grind is a bit much and I just focus on the research.

Getting to lvl. 50 is ok but boring grinding dolmens.

Kinks can be eased out, issues can be patched, drop rates can be changed.

Jewelry crafting isn't perfect, but it wouldn't take much to make it great. And besides, it's literally impossible for players or developers to know of Jewelrycrafting drop rates are fine, until we wait a couple months for the market to stabilize.

ah the impatience of youth; as time goes by you will wish it would slow down to a crawl as one nears the end.

I am only 4 months in here at this lovely game even with all its flaws and grinds its is never a possibility I will catch up with anyone here anytime soon so after 9yrs of WoW I am just glad to have something to fill my retirement with something fun to do. The GRIND is real in this new JC skill but to expect anything less than a grind is unrealistic, slow down and just let it happen.
