Fellow guildless people, curious what reasons you remain guildless?

As title says, I am curious of various reason why some of us remain guildless. I know I have gotten quite a variety of reasons for it.
I know there will be some that will likely try to use this as an excuse to recruit. Not the reason for this posting.
Pure and simple it is to inquire into the minds of players that remain guildless. I have my reasons and others have their own reasons.

I've had years of playing in games with clans, guilds, or whatever. I've had some really great ones, but also some really bad ones. After some exceptionally awful drama that exploded recently in FFXIV, I'm kind of over attaching myself to that kind of thing. Wasn't even involved in the recent stuff directly,

It gets old. Better off just not bothering, I reckon.

I like casual play, so many guilds have stupid rules.

I normally play guildless in all mmos because i don't play well with others.. and as others stated the dramas and rules get old fast.

Strangely i have found a pretty good guild in ESO that are friendly and have very little dramas.. Generally i stay away though.

I don’t generally play on a schedule, I tend to solo, and can’t often commit to specific times or events. Generally that leaves social guilds.

In the past, I’d join a guild after meeting people in it through the community; ESO’s in-game community is pretty weak in my experience, so you don’t really get to know many people.

This is my casual game, there's not much point in joining guilds if I'm not doing most of the content anyway, at most its just questing, dailies, and a random dungeon every once in a while; though I haven't done a dungeon in a few months lately. My heavy game is WoW where I am in an active raiding guild and have some authority, this game I want to completely relax.

I like to PvP and PvE equally. It's hard finding a group of players that feel the same, and while I understand joining multiple guilds is a thing, I don't want the conflict of having two diffrent guilds having events on the same night and things of that nature.
Love to find a group of players who like to do battlegrounds and wreck stuff in Cyrodiil as much as they like to do dungeons and trials. It's not been easy to do so. Seems most guilds are either one or the other.
Staying guildless frees me up to do what I enjoy at the time I want to enjoy it. No strings. It also is a struggle, because I have to pug almost everything when I know how much more fun and rewarding it is having other solid players you can depend on to run content with.

TL;DR...I just haven't found a place that fits how I want to enjoy my playtime.

Bit of an introvert and mostly solo player, without a set schedule. Most guilds I joined either got broken up or I just ended up never getting further involved with any of them, despite all those fancy guild adverts. Just felt like a number on the roster, I guess.

Which is a bit of a shame. I've always wanted those fancy titles and skins from trials/vet DLC dungeons. I'll never earn a single one without being part of a guild, but oh well.

Also sucks not having a place to sell gear, so I usually end up deconning a lot of it. I've lost count of how many (desirable) set pieces I've deconned because I just didn't want to bother peddling them in zone chat.

I stay guildless now as I like to do what I want, when I want and because I want to.

When I've been in guilds in the past I've felt obliged to do what others requested of me, regardless of whether it conflicted with what I wanted to do or not.

I'm happy to help others and keep an eye on zone chat in case anybody shouts for help with a boss or needs something crafting etc, but I usually like to jog on and do my own thing.

For some I know, it's because of the inactivity limits and automatic kick-outs.

Too repetitive, I've had too many groups talent search and look for various people to do vet trials, some for vet trial hard modes. Taking a mental break kinda helped. Still been doing crafting requests and various other things.

Drama + the difficulty of finding a group I jive with and does the content I am into, on a schedule I can manage. After over a decade doing the guild,/non trivial content dance it gets old. More power to people that can swing it.

You are putting yourself behind.

You can easily make use of the Guild system with easily zero guild involvement.

1. Find a large guild that doesn’t care at all what its members do. Plenty of these exist. You can use this guild for free fast traveling and homes.
2. Create your own guild and invite tons of randoms and/or create fake accounts just for this. You want to reach 10 permanent members. By doing so, you gain an entire 500-item guild bank to yourself

I have my own friends guild but other guilds, I usually get kicked out lol. I play lots of games, whatever holds my attention and if your not on every single day trade guilds will kick you and other guilds will kick you too.

This thread is about guildless people who don’t want involvement in guilds because of the social aspects, requirements, whatever.
However, many people who remain guildless due to those reasons aren’t aware of benefits like these which involve zero involvement with humans lol. You set yourself up and have permanent benefits without ever sending a single message to anyone else.

If you don’t care about those that’s fair enough. You don’t speak for everyone.

Just haven't found one that offers what I want in a guild. I used to be in a great one, but real life issues forced me to take a break and when I came back I found myself removed from said guild.

That really stinks. I never remove my friends from my guild. They haven't played in well over a year.

ESO is the first MMO I’ve played exclusively guildless since the day the servers opened. I do miss out on the game’s economy and I have to put some effort into finding challenge that doesn’t involve the “team sport” aspect, but I know MMOs have all but passed me by in that regard, so I carve out my own little place and think of everyone else as NPCs.

As such, I treat ESO as any other single player game and joining player guilds seems contrary to that. I’ve been around enough to know that joining a guild would instantly change my experience and I would regret it. I belong to guilds outside of ESO, but I like to keep my ESO world free of real people and all that comes with them.

I went guild-less for a first few months I was playing ESO. I didn't feel comfortable asking to join some random person's guild just for the sake of being in a guild.

Once I completed the story and started engaging in group activities, people started asking me if I wanted to join their guilds. There were no requirements, no pressure, and no risk involved, so I figured I'd give it a try. Over time I've joined and left various guilds but now I'm in a few guilds that all have great people, no requirements, no pressure, no drama (mostly), no one telling you how to play or what to do. It's nice logging on and seeing the same people every day, we know each other, we help each other out, and there are always people to talk to.

Guilds who want an large and active player base need to remove inactive players.

Access to trader is the main benefit, is in two guilds who is large trade guild but pretty social so they are nice if you need help on last boss in dungeon, one also run a lot of normal trials.

I'm an introvert, so social guilds don't interest me, and I also move between games so even in a trade guild which doesn't demand social interaction I can fall foul of inactivity limits; that's how I fell out of my last guild and I've yet to try joining another.

On PS4 I have no problem with guilds and belong to 5 because of the ease of meeting people and getting into guilds because of the social interaction of built in voice coms. On PC I don't belong to any guilds because it is hard to hook up via zone text chat.

I don't like having compulsory activities imposed on me, whether in the form of interaction with other members, participation in guild events or logging in every so often.
I used to be in a pretty chill trading guild which I kind of regret getting kicked out of due to not logging in often enough when I wasn't playing the game, but so it goes.

Join a trade guild with low tax, profit by their guild house with all crafting stations and mundus.

As long as you deposit 5k in the guild bank every week or sell in guild store: profit. Don't even have to socialize.
