So I'm sure a lot of you have listened to the guards talking about a book upstairs in the Royal Palace after finishing main quest and run up to see what's that about.

After reading the book and the message Darien Gautier - the Golden Knight left, I have a sneaky suspicion that Meridia will be the next big antagonist! What do you think of that? One of the 'benevolent' Daedric Prices, who helped us defeat Molag Bal and then sent Darien to help us turned out to only have used him for her own purposes! What could her plot be?

Why does everyone seem to forget about the attacks Meridia launched on the temples of the Divines in Knights of the Nine? Or the fact that Umaril the Unfeathered was her champion prior to ESO? She IS a Daedric Prince, the idea that she isn't a shining beacon of goodness shouldn't be surprising.

I mean.. she IS a daedric prince. seeing her helping us against Molag Bal, whom she hates a LOT as anything other then "enemy of my enemy" is a bit unduly optimistic, dontcha think?

I never thought she was helping us for our sakes. of COURSE she was using us.

Well assuming we wait another chapter before we encounter her again. I would imagine it would involve Meridia’s ring of Khajit being stolen in Elsweyr by Rajhin from the second era.

Meridia is a good Daedric Prince but she is still a Daedric Prince and does have her own nature. I would safely say that Meridia isn't going to want to do something as big as destroying the whole entire world of Nirn, like the others, but whatever she is up to... It is for her own goals or benefits.

Now, personally, I believe she is going to be the next antagonist because we literally just gave her the Crystal Tower in a sense... We did use Dawnbreaker after-all to fix the tower. The real question is: What does she wants?

Personally, I have two theories. She is either wants to go after the Divines to become the one true god basically (she obviously loves being worshipped and tend to be very commanding) or the next big expansion is going to be Black Marsh, and she wants to do something about Sithis, arguably the darkest entity in the entire TES universe, and anyone who knows Meridia would know that she flat-out HATES any dark related... Nocturnal, Molag Bal, Necromancers. You name it. If there is darkness or dark creatures, she wants her shining light to beam into it and smite the darkness... It's her nature.

Now, personally. My opinion of Meridia is simple. I like her. I consider her to be a good thing in the world overall and never a true enemy. However, this is more in general. She has her moments where she needs to be stopped, and I'm fine with that. So I'm excited to see what is going to happen.

You are partial correct. Umaril was Meridia's champion. However, Meridia didn't launched the attacks on the temples of the Divines. Umaril himself did, using his Prince's power to command her own daedra. This is because Umaril seeked revenge on the gods for his original defeat.

Meridia rivalry with Molag Bar was just a diversion well played.....remember Meridia is a deceiver!

Ok yes but she still aided the ayleids in the alessian war which is pretty disgusting considering how they treated humans. Definitely not the kind and benevolent goddess she seems in the vanilla mq.

That book hit the feels a little bit. He's kinda annoying but for some reason I enjoy his company. Him talking to the Psijic mage before the one quest was pretty funny.

Just a nitpick, but the past tense of, "seek" is "sought," not, "seeked."

The distinction between what Meridia did and what Umaril did is a little bit academic. He attacked temples of the divines because of what the Alessian Crusades had done to Miridia. She's not usually that aggressive unless A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON!

She, nominally, opposes the undead in all their forms. Which usually puts her in alignment with the player's goals, but again, this makes her neither good, nor nice. She is a daedric prince, and should always be considered a potential threat.

I actually personally think there was no hint at the next daedric invasion but we did infact get a glimpse at the next DLC (assuming the 3rd Qtr DLC is PvP related as Brian hinted at during the first Summerset ESO Live).

In the quest for The Nord Bogart we had to get a audience with the proxy queen and at the end of that quest line they went off to discuss terms of ending the war so my theory is that sometime soon the entire Cyrodiil region will be transforming into something entirely different... maybe the war is still there, but factions have changed.. who knows but why else would that quest even exist if they weren't planning on ending the war.

That's the hint quest I believe to the next story for ESO... wait and see I guess.
